Strange Dream

The Yarn Sanctuary. This weekend I spent a bit of time each day working in the Yarn Sanctuary. It’s been a year since I’ve straightened up in there, and I hadn’t even finished the job. So it is way past time to do this. The whole thing is overwhelming.

Beyond the Basics. From time to time I schedule classes in my Beyond the Basics section for knitters and crocheters that want to learn a little more than basic how to knit and how to crochet. Are you ready to stretch your knitting wings? For these knitting classes you must know how to knit and purl and be able to do so with ease. For the crochet classes you must know how to crochet into your foundation chain, how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet. Watch this space for the next Beyond the Basics class announcement. You can register for all of my classes (except those at Michaels) on my website.

Won’t buy any more yarn.

Don’t Knit This! In case you’re thinking you can make clothing out of evenly spaced lines, please think again. One look at this outfit should expose that folly. Repeat after me: Don’t knit this! Don’t knit this! Don’t knit this!

Strange Dream. Yes, yes I know. You think all of my dreams are strange. Maybe they are.

A dream I had a couple weeks ago had a missing snake in it. The snake, a big, long snake at least 8 foot long was missing IN OUR HOUSE. Much excitement ensued until the snake reappeared and followed an online friend, Nicole home. Although she has no snakes to my knowledge and I’m not even sure she likes snakes, I was quite glad to see the snake leave us and follow her home.

Next we painted our walls with mood paint. The paint changed colors according to my moods. There was much hilarity as Ken and the kids tried to change my angry moods to happy moods.

After that I found a huge bug. He was a beetle, about 7 inches long and about 4 inches tall. He had an armored like appearance that was multi colored and shiny-like an abolone shell. Ken, always my hero, lifted his foot to stomp on him, and the bug reared up on his hind legs and hissed at Ken. Ken did an about face and looked for something else to handle the giant bug. He settled for a shovel and removed him from the house that way.

Finally I woke up. I determined my dream was strange and decided that indeed all of my dreams are strange.

What’s on My Hooks & Needles? I haven’t worked much on the magenta socks. I must work faster on them because I have a red pair of socks to make too.

I found some yarn for the new project. But after a few inches decided I was unhappy with it. It is not close-to-the-skin soft and it needs to be. The blue mercerized cotton was still missing so decided on blue alpaca. Now 8 inches into the project, this weekend I found the blue mercerized cotton. Argh. Okay, well, I also have another project in mind for that so will keep the alpaca for my current project.

I have my purple cashmere merino sweater on the needles. I am almost finished reknitting the sleeve. I then need to take a look at the hem.

Next I may need to work on the sock yarn mitered squares afghan.

What’s on your hooks and needles?
