I'm ok, but still waiting for the aching in my gut to subside

I just went outside for the first time in days.
It’s late, but moonlight lit my path.
I looked out, just above the horizon
And saw the last fading light of the sun.
It was then, that I couldn’t believe
I had nobody walking by my side.
No one to stare with me at space,
To share this eternally vast night sky.
The light of the stars piercing our eyes.
