I am now having weekly dreams about the time capsule show, or else I wake up in the middle of the night fretting over the time capsule event's many details. For those of you out of the loop, what I am talking about is Felix Obelix's debut show, January 23 at 8pm the Earl Wynn Theatre of the ArtsCenter in Carrboro, NC.
Opening acts:
Billy Sugarfix, performing songs on a theremin and in costume
Midtown Dickens, performing songs and firing everybody up
archival cheesball instructional films from the A/V Geeks!
As far as the actual capsule, there will be an honest-to-god vaulted steel safe in the ArtsCenter's lobby all evening, for people to bring items to put it in. A videobooth manned by the Carrboro documentary company Minnow Media will be in the lobby as well, so people can record themselves on camera, speaking directly to the future. Those video files will also go in the capsule. You can record a message to the you of 2059! Thank you Minnow Media!
I've handmade 60 Felix Obelix EPs, limited-edition, you have to be there to buy one, and I've made them out of old photographs and old yearbooks and vintage wallpaper pieces and bits of the old stamp collections of my youth. I've also handmade 7 wall-hanging EP artworks, which are even finer and cooler and you can hang them on your wall like a painting. Photos of these are here:

Ernie and I have a date to go exploring in the attic of the Horace Williams House on Monday to take measurements for the capsule!!! Thank you PSCH!
Lastly, I got a grant from the Orange County Arts Commission to help defray the cost of this night. Even though time capsules and videobooths and all this is very costly, I'm keeping the ticket price to just $5, so that pretty much everyone can attend. Thank you OCAC!
This is in addition to the fact that Felix Obelix is going to make its debutante debut, and I'll be actually fronting a band playing my own music for the first time in my life.
Somebody get me a tranquilizer!!!
