Sorry I've not been updating this thing much lately, guys. Things have been pretty non eventful.
Anyway earlier today at work a customer informed me of a price sign over a case-lot sale we're having, for a case of tomato juice. There were twelve cans in the case and the price was $12.99, yet in a little pink sticker is said '$1' each. O.o I spoke to the person who wrote on the little pink sticker and she said she felt she should have double-checked the information that was on the form that was sent from corporate. I don't necessarily think it was her job to be a proof-reader (Espeically since her full-time job is the floral department.
I'm sure this is either lazy math or someone who was trying to manipulate the sign to make it look better, but on the other hand, I'm a touch nervous that someone at our corporate office thinks that one twelfth of $12.99 is a buck. O.o;;
On the other hand, that might explain a good number of things that does come down from corporate...
Anyway the customer insisted that since the sign said a dollar each, it should be twelve bucks. I had to clear this with management who felt the customer was basically being whiny and stupid and reluctantly gave her approval.
I also think there is a fair disparity between the way management thinks compared to how customer's think. I don't think everything a customer wants is what they should get, but I can't help but think that maybe management should at least try to understand the customer's thinking... that helps business, ya know.
