BS Camping Trip... Boy Scouts, not Bull Sh-

Sep 25, 2005 22:00

At the Boy Scout camp this weekend, there were "special" unit scouts from a cult, er, prestigious "Order of the Fuckin' Arrow". One word sums them up: incompetent. No, wait, here's another: arrogant. Oh, and why not: pompous, daft, greedy, rude, and bothersome. Yeah, if you know me, you know I can't stand elitists, especially the stupid ones. And, surprisingly, that's the worse of it. I stalked some people in the woods for a while, around 11 p.m. (just for kicks, nothigng too creepy). Then they said stuff about blacks, gays, and Jews. They were about my age, but I'm assuming suburban. I wanted to jump out and attack them. Self deluded fools, sure live your suburban fantasy. Not in my woods, though. If they weren't so loud, they might have noticed me there, always there, watching everything. In the end, I just walked back the other way. I love actually being able to see the stars...

Heh, they brought in professional make-up artists who created the carnage of a plane crash. I was old enough to be on staff this year, meaning I had to interact with those "straight as an arrow" shit-heads. Basically, they're "positions" fell apart so I just wandered around making sure the little scouts knew what to do.

Oddly enough, the woods cleared up my allergies. Or maybe it's just a coincidence. Anyway, I feel better now. The storm was awesome, especially in a tent. I went to sleep easily. Plus, I didn't wake up in a two inch puddle of mud! ^^ A big tree did fall pretty close to us though. If it was the other direction, I might not be writing this. Makes ya think...

I started reading American Gods on the way there. I love Neil Gaiman's stuff. My writing's shifting toward his style... somewhat. Alas, school will not permit for further recreational reading. Hell, I still have a pile of homework to do, seeing as I left Friday after school and just got back this afternoon. Meh, I'm too tired now. Life goes on.
