So. Sometimes magic happens with me and Cielo. This time it was about space opera Carebear pirates.
Zhores: also like, the fucking Doctor. Jesus Christ Dr. Who is such an Outrider.
Cielo: XD yes
Zhores: they also have the same problem as the Doctor. They guide people out of rough spots and protect people who are lost or in harm's way, but they also can bring a lot of trouble to people who are close
Cielo: I wonder if Cordelia would count as that
Cielo: Miles would
Zhores: XD
Zhores: I think like, five frillion space opera characters would fit that
Cielo: Pretty much!
Cielo: Well, they're easy types to write a story about
Zhores: I SWEAR CIELO there needs to be a book where the problem is that EVERYBODY in the galaxy is a free-roaming explorer type who wants to change things

Zhores: like. space parliament meetings would never get done
Cielo: but that's okay because no one pays attention to the laws anyway
Zhores: "I'm sorry I didn't get back in time! Urk'flan needed rescuing from a cruel tyrant." "That's all right, there was a minor war in the south nebula, everyone was busy with that."
Zhores: SOB. YES
Zhores: all the buildings would be like, half finished and kind of cobbled together
Cielo: But what can a space explorer do if there's no petty bureaucracy for them to fight?
Zhores: and then someone would try to rebel against that for better living conditions
Cielo: Actually I think there was a book sort of like that
Cielo: except the society was small fuzzy bears
Cielo: well alien bears
Zhores: and someone would rebel against the rebellion because the other guy was forcing people to work against their will
Zhores: ahaha what
Cielo: WELL THEY WEREN'T EXACTLY EXPLORERS
Cielo: more like
Cielo: the ultimate LARPers
