so i had a meeting with one of our directors in compliance a little while ago. she was wearing a white shirt with red and pink diagonal stripes. i guess mich has officially corrupted me because i recognized it immediately as an ann taylor product. (sorry could not find it on their website)
so anyway, we were wrapping up and i casually remarked something along the lines of "that's a nice shirt. is it ann taylor?" to which she replied with surprise, "why yes. how is it you know about their fall line?!" "ha. my girlfriend drags me into that store every week it seems..."
but then i started wondering if i should have made that casual remark. is it a bad thing to recognize a woman's brand choice, even if it's just to say you approve? do women not want to be associated with a mass market brand? i mean, i would never call someone out for wearing k-mart, but ann taylor is pretty respectable, right?
aiysh.
