It's been a constant 111+ degrees here for the last few days and sitting in a chair is like trying to sit on a Slip N' Slide especially when you don’t have AC. Because of this heat wave, everything from power, cable, to the Internet had been shutting down, and it’s just today that all three are finally restored (for now). Unfortunately a few neighboring towns are still without electricity, but I’m sure someone is doing all they can to restore it.
There isn’t much to do at home when you don’t have cable or the Internet, so I spent most of Saturday chain sawing a freaking one story tree that split and broke in my backyard back on July 4th. With my neighbor’s help, I was able to get it done in reasonable time and not die from exhaustion, suffer a heat stroke, or bust a hernia. Just to give ya'll an idea on how big the tree was, I now have enough firewood to last two winters.
I also want to take the time now to thank all those who offered me help finding a place in San Diego, and let you know that I did recently find a place. It’s no penthouse, but it’s practical and convenient enough.
