I am not a psycho axe murderer

This is a long shot but... Anyone reading this currently living in San Diego or know someone that lives in San Diego? I'm moving there in August and I'm looking to meet up with someone friendly and nice that can show me around and let me crash at their place for a bit while I secure an apartment.

I know a few people, I'll see what I can do. I'm pretty sure I know people who wouldn't mind showing you around, not sure about the crashing part though. Worse comes to worse you can stay at a hostel. I stayed at a really nice one while there (i'm not sure about the name of it though)

Congrats on Grad School! :)

I'll make a few calls and see if I can find someone ... how many nights/weeks do you think you'll probably need so I can give them an idea? I know a few people who live on their own, and would be potientially good roommates. Man, if you had only done this a year earlier, I would have let you stay at my place for sure. :(

I'm not really sure. It would depend on when the people renting can show me the place.

My plan going solo so far:
-Fly down there
-Get a cab to the campus
-Start walking and calling people near by with openings near by

Ideally I hope to be greeted by someone at the airport who can then show me around, drive my ass around and let me stay at their place for a bit while I hunt.

Thanks! My biggest concern is just getting around to places especially in residential areas. Hopefully SD's public transportation isn't pure crap like I keep hearing.

Well, going to SDSU the public transportation shouldn't be hard to route for you at all ... it's really only bad if you live in the nowhere places like Lemon Grove ... El Centro .. places nobody's heard of like that, hahaha.
