You'd think, two weeks after the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, political figures in America would be focusing on helping those in need ( which, by in by, many of them are ) and also attending to ways on how to rebuild and prevent such a disaster from happening again. Such as, you know, don't build a city below sea level?
But, instead, we have some far left wing liberal fuckheads only wanting to spout off about how Bush is responsible for everything. Howard Dean? Barbara Boxer? Mary L. Landrieu? Ted Kennedy? They all need to shut their fucking mouths.
Because all they are doing is ranting and turning a tragedy into a political wargame because their butthurt about the last two elections.
So, who IS responsible for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina?
Well, I'll try to make it as simple as I can. Although, regardless of how simple I make it, assfucks like Howard Dean will never see it or believe it.
By law, it is the state and local's responsbility and JOB to ensure proper evacuations on a local and statewide level. A week before Katrina hits, the population of New Orleans, its citizens and its officials, are given plenty of warning that a category 5 Hurricane is coming up against a levy which only protects against category 3. THERE'S YOUR FIRST CLUE.
Days before Katrina strikes, President Bush contacts Governor Blanco of Louisianna and tells her she better prepare and ready their evacuation plans.
Days before Katrina, most of New Orleans has been evacuated except for the people too poor to perhaps make it out of the town or have anywhere to go, or were just too stubborn and didn't believe they'd be hit as hard. NOW, there's thousands of buses that Blanco or New Orleans Mayor Nagin could have also issued an evacuation order and had all of the people left behind boarded onto buses and out of the city.
FEMA comes into town days after the Hurricane, and Brown doesn't act quickly and smoothly because he's too busy pursuing red tape and getting all sorts of permission instead of just doing the fricken job.
Where is Kennedy, or Dean's, or Boxer's outcry about Gov. Blanco? Or Mayor Nagin? COULD IT BE...because they are democrats, they can't piddle on their name? So they'll hold Bush responsible instead?
I'm not saying the Feds should get a free pass and collect $200. The New Orleans citizens should get their taxes back. I mean, that's what they do pay state taxes for. For the State to take care of them. When clearly, that wasn't the case.
You want my personal opinion? Gov. Blanco couldn't handle it. She couldn't take the stress, the severity of the situation and she fumbled the ball and lost the game before it even began. You want my next opinion? Mayor Nagin is a air-blowing hot-head who bitches on the radio about Fed assistance being slow, but he didn't fucking declare New Orleans a disaster area until FOUR, count them, FOUR days after Katrina hit. Meanwhile, now there's thousands of buses flooded, that could have saved peoples' lives.
So in conclussion, who is to blame? I, personally, would like to blame them all. I'd like to blame local, state and federal. Why? Even if it's local and state's job, I think the Fed should plan for worst case scenario. What's more worse than a Hurricane devastating 80 percent of New Orleans? When a Hurricane devastates 80 percent of New Orleans while the local and state officials sit by and suck their thumbs...in safety, mind you.
So until Kennedy, Boxer, Dean and Landrieu, or anyone else in their camp or same train of thought can give me solid, real good evidence and ideas as to why Blanco or Najin did not use those thousands of buses to help people, then them, and those like them, need to shut the fuck up.
Opinion is one thing. Outright blatantly lying, is another.
Remember...when you point a finger at someone...there's three more pointing back at you. ( Unless your like this kid I know named three-finger McGee, who lost his index finger in a tragic jigsaw puzzle accident. Hehe )
The Rant doth Endeth.
