I don't mind the rain.

I've been staying with Kent these past few weeks while trying to find a new place. I'm not trying too hard because I'm enjoying the cheap rent (and he's happy I'm here). Last night though another tree fell on his duplex. That's 2 trees in 6 months. The ground is complete mush now from all the rain and the leaning 100 year old trees in the backyard are reaching their ends. Luckily no damage to his part of the duplex. His neighbor was walking through the backyard and started sinking halfway up his calves in mud (mind you he weighs 350+ pounds).

All of my things are in storage except my guitar, computer, some workout clothes, and some scrubs. Weird, I can fit everything I use in a box. If the storage shed were to burn down, I wouldn't be too bummed. I have a ridiculous amount of clothes, music, books-- even after my bi-yearly crazy-giving-away-of-things episodes.

I won't be in Conway this time next year. Kent is starting to look for gradschools, and I'm down with going to any city that is near a pediatric hospital. I refuse to work with adults... and love emergency/trauma departments. Weird sentence. He's thinking Berkeley CA, Austin TX, or Pittsburgh-- all schools with awesome philos. departments. I would be happy I think In any of those places but the west coast would be ideal.

All is well. Bohne turned 1 Friday. We're on the couch listening to Neil Young (her request). The front door is open and the humidity is creeping through the screen door. The fan is rocking on the ceiling. Bohne's lying next to me with her chin on my lap. The first time she did that my heart melted. I love animals so much more than people.
