We debated for a while what her name should be. I was wanting Caney, Maggie, or any other lame girly dog name. David wanted Buckwheat, which I wasn't at all opposed to. But Kent named her Bonnie, which i think is appropriate. Bohne = bean in German. And a few times I've referred to her as bean, beansprout, beanieweanie, and other sickeningly cute nicknames. So Bonnie it is, Bean for short.
She's 5 weeks and 3 days old. Kind of young to be away from mom, but she eats puppy food when it's softened. Next week I'm going to start giving her shots. $85/visit x3 for a vet to do it, or I can do all 3 myself for $15. I'm cheap, I know. But she will be having yearly visits to the vet, she's not going to be a "country dog" as David calls it.
When I got her 2 days ago, she was still shakey on her legs. Today, she was running and hopping in the grass. She's so tiny! When she runs her legs look like a blur, but she's really only moving 0.005 miles/hour. She's learned to climb the 4-inch step outside my place, but is still too small for the 6-incher.
What else is new? Hm. I'm sitting at my computer playing with pictures thinking about which book I should start reading. I've had the last 4 days off. Kent is holding a his biology book in his lap on my couch, completely knocked out. I don't miss school, not a bit. I think I may eventually. Meanwhile I'm enjoying all this free time.
Amy and I are still considering living together soon. I'm not sure how feasible that will be, we still need a 3rd roomate. If it does't work out, no problem, I can keep renting my space. Kent and I were talking about getting a house together, but now might be too soon. People say relationships can be ruined from living together. But if they're going to go sour, it'll happen anyways, right? Sharing a living space would only expediate the process I say.
Lately I've been reading a lot, cooking, artsing. Puppy-ing. Life is swell, all is well.
