I got blindsided by an unwarned death fic today.
I can't understand WHY people who love two characters want to see one of them dead and the other grieving!!!! I want them to live happily ever after, dangit!! Sure, some angst in the middle is fine, but they should LIVE THROUGH IT!!!!
Totally ruined my day. If authors feel that they MUST kill one of our boys, at LEAST give us, the readers, fair warning so that we don't keep reading thinking that it will get better!!! I wouldn't read it to begin with if it were warned!! Is it worth pissing people off just to get more readers because they KNOW it wouldn't get read if they posted a warning?
