I've been sick for the past two weeks, and it sucks. Ending up with sinusitis in August is really stupid. I was hoping it would go away by itself, but I finally went to see a doctor today and she put me on antibiotics, which is the reason I was putting it off. Every time I take antibiotics, it takes me a week to recover from that too, so I hate it.
My cousin is getting married in Germany very soon and I'm not going to the wedding. I'm disappointed, but I half expected it, because since I'm a freelancer, I technically count as unemployed, and obviously my life ambition is to deflect to the the free world to be a cleaning lady, which is the only reason I could be applying for a visa. The less I say on this subject, the better, because this whole topic makes me rage.
My cousin and his BF are the schmoopiest people on the planet, though. Let me illustrate that with an example. It was their anniversary a few days ago, and H, the boyfriend came here all the way from Germany to surprise M, the cousin. We all knew he was coming except M, and he and I made plans to go the the movies. But. It had to be a certain movie at a certain time because H told him he was going to go to the movies too, so they would be watching the same thing at the same time. M bought it, because they just do stuff like that. H was going to just show up in the theatre and make it into an even bigger surprise, but M's mom insisted he come home to eat. They're really sickeningly sweet.
Things aren't as bad as they sound, even though this post has been whiny. I've had a few work-free days, so I've been catching up on TV shows, tumbling like crazy and playing Super Mario with my eleven year old BFF. I finally finished Heroes, and the last season was surprisingly good. I'm all caught up on White Collar and Leverage, and are there any shows more adorable than these two? I just love everyone in them. As for SPN, I can honestly say that I'm not looking forward to it. I read some spoilers and unlike before S4, I'm taking the warning that "Sam and Dean's relationship has changed" seriously this time, because I learned my lesson. Also, it's really pissing me off that they're making episodes like something oh so cleverly called Live Free and Twi-Hard instead of using this season to fix things as I'd hoped. I'm actually looking forward to Smallville a million times more than SPN. It seems that nine years of watching will finally pay off because at last a) Lois knows and b) Clark will put on the suit and fly.
I'm using Tumblr as a place to be fannish about comic books, and it's a fun little community that is surprisingly accepting and open to diversity. However, recently there's been some wank, and since it's a fandom that has more men that others, I've seen some yucky comments regarding those ~pesky Tumblr feminists being so sensitive, just looking to get offended, don't they know we'd take them more seriously if they weren't so rude. You know the drill. I stayed out of it because I'm just too tired to go through some things again, but I also found it mildly amusing, because, hello, SPN fan.
In awesome LJ news, an option to change userhead icons has been introduced, but they conveniently forgot to include non-white options. Just look at the screencap. Maybe they thought a blue person, racial stereotypes, or a buttface count. (

Let's just flounce, people. This place is getting more and more disgusting every day.
