So, I've decided that I do not want to make 'resolutions' but achievable goals for myself for 2008. I feel like 'resolution' has become such a nasty word, and everyone usually breaks their resolution by the time January is over. I don't have too many, because I know if there were a lot, I wouldn't keep them... but here is my list:
1.) Eat Healthier- I'm going back to attempting to eat healthier. Which means, I'm limiting myself. I can have fast food no more than once a week (and when lent rolls around, I'm giving it up completely again). I also cannot go out to eat more than once a week, unless a special occasion (birthday, friend visits, road trip somewhere), makes that absolutely impossible. I think if I can stop eating out, then maybe I'll be a little healthier.
2.) Clean out my life- I've somehow become a pack-rat. In an effort to keep myself a little more organized (and hopefully a little cleaner), I am gradually going to work on getting rid of things I don't need. Like the box of things I found from my desk in college- most of that went into the garbage yesterday (I started a little early, haha).
3.) Save Save Save- Starting with my next pay check, I'm going to put small amounts of each check into my savings account. I was waiting until the holidays were over for this one, to make sure my money situation was okay, but now that I'm through the big spending time, I can start putting money aside.
4.) Reading- This is a silly goal, but a goal none the less. I will be done reading the Harry Potter series by the time the next movie comes out so that I can see the last 2 in the theaters, and I will continue to read (something) once I finish the series. Shouldn't be too difficult, considering I'm 3/4 done with the 4th book.
5.) Scrapbooking- I will finish my Maine scrapbook and at least begin my next project- a scrapbook of all my dance pictures from age 3 on up. Just something else to keep me productive, instead of being lazy.
Those are some of my goals, I have one other goal, but I'm chosing to keep that one to myself. I guess we'll see this time next year if I manage to keep them!
Happy and Safe New Year to you all!
