Nan, a former colleague, who now works out of one of our regional offices is here attending a meeting. She sneaks out and grabs me.
NAN: Scott, come here, I need a favour.
SCOTT: Wha...?
[we enter a room of about 7 people, 50 to 60ish.]
NAN: Scott, tell them who the Indigo Girls are!
SCOTT: Wha...well, they are... an incredible
duo...lesbian...folk...spiritual...awesome...politically
active...southern...funny...they're amazing!
NAN: And who is Emily?
SCOTT: Ah, she's one half of all that...
NAN: [with a big grin on her face] She's coming to our conference as a
resource person. I just spoke to her this morning.
Scott's jaw drops [and suddenly remembers that a month back Nan mentioned that she was going to contact Emily to see if she could do this, and Scott sort of smiled, thinking, yeah, right.]
