You make me so FIRED UP to go and reread all of Reborn so I can come back with a "This is the way I see Yamamoto". XDXDXD And so I can start a discussion post on Yamamoto to see how people view his character and all the different ways people see him. I thought that people would generally see him the same way, this, I am finding out, is not so.

Interesting.

I want to see how everyone else sees Yamamoto. And I want to see if there's anyone out there who sees Yamamoto the way I do. (No, that is not "IDIOT!") I suspect this is because for me, Yamamoto just is, and it's only when I direct my mind to it that I go, "WAIT! I actually have all these unspoken, unarticulated assumptions and thoughts about the way I think he is! Wow, I didn't know that!"

This is obviously the long-winded way of saying, "We see Yamamoto really differently!" - which I know is just an attack of me being ObviousMan!!! - but yeah. For example: I don't really know if we know that Yamamoto's capable of leading, but then I'll need to revise the TYL!arc to be sure. Hell, maybe it's just me and my idea of leadership, I don't even think we've been shown incontrovertible proof that Tsuna is capable of leadership. I think we've just been shown that Tsuna is capable of caring for his people and being willing to sacrifice a great deal for their welfare. But the whole, "HE CAN LEAD AN ARMY"? I don't think we've seen that yet. Maybe you'll say that you saw Yamamoto's capability for leadership when he took the initiative for going to team-up with Gokudera, and when he showed that he knows the kind of dynamics people need to have when working together in a team. Maybe he showed it when TYL!Yamamoto was hanging around with the TYE!Kids, I don't know, I'll have to read it to be sure. It's just that I don't really have my incontrovertible proof that Yamamoto is capable or inclined to leadership, although I must admit I want something along the lines of, "When Tsuna is dead, Yamamoto marshals the ragged remnants of the Vongola forces and leads an secret task force into the depths of the Millefiore bastion!!!"

XD Also, my learning curve for absorbing radical new concepts is not anything to write home about. So it's going to take me a while, but I think I am going to reconsider Things.

One of the tenets of my argument, yes. Don't you think that he had a very take-charge personality as TYL?

Also, popularity + athletic ability usually = high degree of self-confidence = one of the most important characteristics of a leader. Also helps that he was probably shoved into the role of sports captain or roels like that because of his athletic ability.

He also mainly just was for me, but that's because I was almost slipping into the role of Yamamoto, so I understood him as easily as I did myself (which is sometimes not at all, but let's not think about that for the time being). So I also have you to thank for helping me deconstruct Yamamoto XD
