www.knsd.com reports that :

"Afghanistan, with a government propped up by other countries, is pledging $100 dollars for U.S. victims of Hurricane Katrina."

And don't worry, I'm not making fun on them at all. As soon as I read this I started to cry. Other countries are offering us (U.S.) Money?!?!?! That's just crazy! We are the country that is always supporting a lot of the world with our military and our health services, etc. and now those countries are returning the favor! I am so touched by that fact, but in a way it concerns me. Can't we handle this ourselves? With all our huge hospital ships and helicopters, troops... aren't there enough people to utilize for ourselves?

I am SO torn right now. I am proud of our military serving abroad, but when stuff like this happens, I'm left wondering why they're not home to help US? How odd of me, I know. Lord knows if Matt got called up to go help in the South right now, I'd be torn again. I'd want him to go help, but being selfish I'd want him to stay home...

I know this made NO sense... but I just read this and had to share.
