Sometimes during a game I like to listen to the other team's broadcast using MLB's Gameday Audio. I'm at work right now, listening to the Washington-Miami game, and one of the Marlins announcers just mispronounced the name of one of his own players. I don't know if that's an omen, but I think it's going to be a long season for poor Marlins fans. (Oops, he just did it again.)
For the record, Placido Palanco does not stress the second syllable in his first name, like "placenta". It's PLAH-see-doh.
But I guess I understand: there are hardly any people with Hispanic names in Miami.
