If you haven't heard of this man, Google him right now. He was as amazing as any Yankee, but he was only ever a Cardinal. He was perhaps the only professional athlete to view himself as a role model, an old-fashioned notion in this age of PEDs and fake Twitter girlfriends. When he entered the Hall of Fame, they said, "Here stands baseball's perfect warrior. Here stands baseball's perfect knight."
So there goes baseball's perfect knight, from Baseball Heaven to the real one.
