This is a commentary about the Brewers-Cubs game. :)
After having a strike zone about half the size of the standard strike zone all night, home plate umpire Brian Gorman decides to ring up Corey Hart for the third out of the 7th inning with runners on second and third on a 1-2 pitch that was at least a half foot off the plate. It was a late breaking slider, and obviously Hart still had (at best) a 70% chance of still making an out, but to take the bat out of a guys hand in that situation when his team is down 2 and in a playoff chase is awful. Blowing a close call is one thing, but that was a no doubt ball.
Granted the Brewers have had plenty of chances in this game and if they lose that one call won't have made them lose the game, but to have that opportunity taken away for a batter having good plate discipline is disappointing.
