Raleigh, gentrify thyself

Well, the news I'd been expecting for just over a month came through Monday, via a note in my mailbox. My neighborhood has been sold [1] with the intent of redevelopment.

No word on when I'll need to move, other than the new company will honor existing leases. The outgoing property manager mentioned that it would probably be at least a year

As disturbing as I think that decision is, it doesn't apply here. I'm in a series of rental duplex and triplexes, getting a bit long in the tooth and the owner sold to an interested buyer. It's nothing I'm upset about. I like living in the area, and I'll miss that, but I completely understand the sale.

Now, had the city come in and forced the sale, then I would have a problem.
