Girlfriend
Yesterday I went out on The Dangerous Catch boat. It was pretty awesome. Hubby elected not to come. When Baby and I got home he offered to fix us dinner, so I offered to help. During dinner prep, he informed me that he and his girlfriend had basically broken up. They were going to try the platonic friends route, etc. Movie night and such.
He looks so sad. He states it's for her so she can find a "normal" relationship. Which, I don't find it hard to believe, it's just not that cut and dried. Granted, they both work in positions that could make things complicates if "different" lifestyles were known. And neither feels the need to out themselves in the community, family, friends, acquaintences or strangers... (remind me to tell you the hilarious story about a complete stranger, who was a co-worker of my mother-in-law who wanted to tell her, but couldn't bc she had just had surgery, about my husband stepping out on his wife!!!).
So he has had to deal w hardly ever spending time w her, and she has had to endure what should be happy couples time alone.
However, she wants to date around, and he is sure she won't find a relationship while she is with him, or worse, she will, and then she will leave him. So, the only answer to that is to just finalize things now.
I am sad, because she is my girlfriend, too... And I fear that this will end in her drifting from me, too...
