Birthday status
(ok, I love that this is the only thing that I can really complain about re: my birthday party...)
In the last 24 hours I have broken 3 nails (and they used to be all the same size, shape, nicely long (not scary) etc) in 3.5 days my party will be in full swing.
Ok, and now all the awesome things that have happened (good)... 1) I was able to invite 101 people just from facebook, alone, and 6 more from my cell phone, and 5 from personal invites. Granted, at least 50 of the people from facebook are out of town... so I'm really hoping its a big party. 2) While I am not the world's worst housekeeper, I am certainly not the best. my house runs to clutter and dust. I was hoping to get some help, but I couldn't seem to be able to hire anyone. I own a computer repair business (Hubby takes care of the hardware replacement, I take care of education and "oh, just make it work?!?") A friend called who needs help polishing a power point presentation... in exchange, she will come over and deep clean my house! /squee!!/ 3) I am strangely ok w/ the idea of turning 32... I'm not sure when that happened, but I'll go w/ it. 4) I bought a party dress (not knowing what I would use it for) and it is so sexy that I finally have a place for it.
and... I'm just really looking forward to this whole thing. My husband's girlfriend and I are getting along... it's funny, but if I logic it out I can logic it 2 different ways. 1) I really shouldn't like her, just because of what all she represents, even though I can tolerate her and 2) Why s houldn't I like her? My husband has pretty good taste in people, why is it surprising that we're so much alike? so I've discovered it's best if I just take each moment as a reaction... "oh, wow, she came over and is helping me cook dinner, what a cool person!" and "oh, wow, we're at her house and she put in StarDust the movie, I love this movie, she has really good movies on her shelf..."
Etc etc. it's working, in the end, I actually just enjoy her company...
