My speakers sound funny. You know when you'd plug your headphones into your CD player or something but they didn't go all the way in. You could hear the music fine, but it felt like part of the track was missing? My speakers have been doing that

They could be blown. Is it kind of muffled sounding? Like you're listening to music with earplugs in? Than they're probably blown. You can fix those yourself if you're handy, or you can get them fixed (thought I'm not sure where that happens, a music store, maybe?).

It's not that they don't sound good, they just sound like they're missing parts of the music if that makes any sense. Like the quality is there but I know these songs well enough that I can tell parts of the track are missing or too quiet. It's very weird.

Well, it does sound like there's something loose. I'd say put on a song that you know well, set the balance to 0 and bring it up and down and listen to see if there is something that isn't changing when you do that. (And the equalizers, if you have them.) I'm kind of guessing on this, if your dad sells them, he probably knows a lot more about it than me, haha!

ik this totally sounds crazy, but does it do the same thing in different places in the room? (mebbe along the lines of, http://techtv.mit.edu/tags/1751-speaker/videos/632-mit-physics-demo----microwave-interference but in a more subtle way)

You know thishappened to me the other daywith my 60$ logitechs, but an unplug/replug of all cords and a reboot fixed it. Did you try all of that? Are you on a mac?

yeah i tried fussing with all the knobs and wires and such to no avail (so far). it's been an ongoing problem so rebooting doesn't seem to affect it.
I will keep at it though, thanks!
