I don't really think there are any people from the Inception fandom on my flist, but I'm gonna rant about this anyways, because... I just don't get it.
What is it about Prague and the Inception fandom? Or at least the Arthur/Eames and Arthur/Cobb part of it, since I can't speak for anything else. I swear to God that if you went to
eames_arthur right now and picked ten stories at random, there'd be Prague mentioned in at least half of them. At least. Either in a meaningless off-hand comment or a part of the story would be actually set there. I was really excited to see a Czech city mentioned in a fic the first few times but now, anytime I see "Hey, remember the job in Prague?" or "The mark is in Prague on business" or something similar, it kinda throws me out of the story. I mean, why Prague? Why not Zurich? Madrid? Berlin? Any other random city? Sure, the Inception fandom is known to throw cities and countries around like nobody's business, but I swear Prague is somewhat more prevalent. It's become a trope or something. The characters can't be the awesome, experienced dream-sharers unless they did a job in Prague.
I'm sure other people don't really notice it, because Prague is the same as any other city to them, but I'd really like to know what it is about our capital that attracts the Inception writers so much. I'm really tempted to find some Inception!meta community and take the question there, 'cause I'd really like to know.
It's become a fandom cliché for me by now; one which I'm really starting to despise. Some people hate the healing!cock, I hate Inception + Prague.
