Billy stalks the queen until he waits for a good time to present her something that "money can never buy"!
Billy: *noticed the queen in the library for a while, but for once in his life he's not entirely sure how to approach a woman, so he decides to lurk behind the shelves for a little longer*
Arshtat: ::sitting in her, by now, customary chair by the window with a large book in her hands. Her attention seems entirely focused on the words, though she in reality she is also casting cautious glances at the person she knows is behind the shelves::
Billy: *really can't tell whether he's noticed or not, but feels pretty ridiculous nonetheless. Time to bite the bullet! He takes off his hat, licks his finger and fixes his long hair the best that he can with it, before finally stepping out of hiding* ..Uh-- top of the afternoon to you, your majesty!
Arshtat: ::looks up from her book, relieved she was right that it wasn’t a threat:: Hello Sir Billy. It is a fine day, isn’t it. You are well I trust?
Billy: Mmyes! A lot better than the last time we spoke, you might say! *he fidgets with the hat in his hands, glancing at the empty chair accross from her* --hey, I'm not interrupting anything, am I?
Arshtat: Not at all. ::gestures that he may sit:: Is there something on your mind?
Billy: AH, perfect! *he instantly takes a seat, placing his hat on the side of the reading table* You could say there is, actually... *he laces his fingers and leans forward rather than back, looking quite attentive in front of royalty* Do you recall signing up for any recent events, your highness?
Arshtat: ::kindly refrains from smiling too much at his obvious efforts:: Recent events? You don’t seem to be talking about something too serious, do you mean the gift-giving occasion?
Billy: Indeed I am! *he lights up, looking more relieved* I was concerned that somebody may have written your name without your consent... because then the joke would really be on me!
Arshtat: ::smile:: I’m certain no one here would have been so impolite as to put my name down without informing me.
Billy: Yes, of course!! Having such faith in people is an admirable quality, your highness. Which makes me proud to call myself your secret santa! *finally leans back and pounds his chest* That's right, old Billy brought something that money can never buy!
Arshtat: Yes faith is wonderful thing to have :: ‘is’ read: ‘would be’:: Oh! Well this is a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t given much thought to the fact that I would be receiving a gift. ::smile:: I hope you weren’t too hard pressed to find something
Billy: *did feel quite pressured, but telling her that wouldn't be anything new* Gahahaha!! Presenting something to a queen is no easy feat, that's why I had to think "outside of the box"! ...Is that what they call it? I think... A-anyway, something in my head just screamed "arts & crafts", so instead of buying something, I-- *reaches for his pocket, but nothing's there* --oops, wrong one..!! *rummages through his belt pouch for the gift (he didn't lose it, honest!)*
Arshtat: Arts and crafts…oh my, that is certainly something I have not received much of. ::watches his efforts stuck between apprehensions and amused:: Is everything alright?
Billy: --I-I'm fine, your highness, I-- got it!! *he quickly pulls out a colourful candle and sets in the middle of the table* One homemade candle for the queen, to guide her way through darkness!! ......I learned my lesson when I stepped on one of Melville's toys in the dark. *sheepish grin*
http://celebrationtimegifts.com/store/images/bd1ec5nd%5B1%5D.jpg Arshtat: ::It is only years of practice that keep her expression from changing…though her eyes are now quite a bit larger:: I see… That is a wonderful sentiment. I didn’t know you were a candle maker…::picks up the candle to examine it:: It is very…intricate.
Billy: *nods, suddenly reminded of his youth* You could say it used to be a hobby, much to my old man's dismay. "You'll never make money out of those" he used to say, gahahaha!! *claps his hands together, feeling very validated* Well, I'm happy to have one fan! Happy holidays, your highness!!
Arshtat: To you as well. ::unable to stop staring at…it:: Thank you, this was certainly an unexpected surprised. I’m glad I decided to join the event. ::holds the candle firmly and smiles at him:: I shall put this to good use.
Billy: That makes two of us! *he gets up and puts his hat on his head, awkwardly tipping his hat and half-bowing since he doesn't know the protocol for royal goodbyes* Please excuse me-- by break is over! *looks at the other side of the room, where a stranger is waiting to challenge him at Goppu*
Arshtat: Ah I see. I would not want to keep you from your important work. ::stands, and places her book on the table:: I should go to put this in a safe place.
Billy: Aha!~ *feels really great that a queen liked his "art", even if his son would never believe him!* I, uh.. --live long and prosper, your highness!! *bad at this*
Arshtat: ::my that was an interesting fairwell…:: You as well. Good day. ::calmly walks out of the room waiting to show any amusement about the gift until she is alone.::
