Bern was knocked overboard when her crew moved cargo around, which prompted Queen in getting Juan and Nash to help. More characters join as the commotion gets bigger! Will they make it?
Queen: *heads over to the Lino en Kuldes where several members of the crew are gathered by the lake and two others are in the icy water searching for Bernadette*
Juan: *yawns and looks around the impressive ship* Huh, I've never been here before... I wonder what's up.
Obel sailor: *sees them approach and lights up* Oh, thank the seas. Are you here to help? Vice-Captain Egan fell into the lake. and so far, we haven't been able to find her. Please, we need your help ...
Juan: *snaps out of his drowsiness for the moment* ..Someone fell all the way down there!? That can't be good... *makes a face as he peers over edge and looks down at the scene*
Nash: ... Egan? Hm, I don't really recognize the name. *shrugs and mimics Juan's motion*
Juan: *just notices the man next to him* Oh, lovely, look who's come to help.
Queen: *raises an eyebrow at the both of them* You're both wimps. Someone jump in there now before the poor girl drowns.
Juan: ... *scratches his head, not feeling that much inclined* I don't know, isn't that what the crew is meant to be doing now..?
Nash: Sounds more like you're being lazy to me.
Juan: *grumbles, it's kind of true after all* ...And what are you doing?
Nash: *ouch, good comeback* I thought you were sufficient enough. You didn't sound too enthusiastic when I arrived.
Juan: Yeah, call it a habit. *looks around curiously* Anyway, I don't think either us want to really jump in there. Should we get a rope or something..?
Nash: Actually, I'd like to hear Queen's reason for not diving in after her.
Juan: *just looks at Queen, although he thinks he can kind of expect her answer*
Queen: *glares at Nash* I've had enough of swimming in that damn lake. Besides, I thought you'd love to play the role of knight-in-shining-armor.
Nash: While jumping in and getting wet with another woman does sound appealing, I'm not really that fond of... the cold. *he actually does hate the cold water*
Juan: *whispers to Queen before continuing to search for a rope* That's because it shrinks in the cold.
Nash: .......
Queen: Whatever. If you guys won't do it, then I will. Someone needs to be able to locate her before throwing a rope blindly, right? But if I get sick, don't blame me if Graham gets angry with the both of you.
Juan: Okay, okay, sheesh! *stops her, frustratingly* I'll jump, but if I die, no one takes over my dojo.
Nash: I don't think anyone would notice if you went disappearing.
Juan: I feel much better, thanks! *growls as he looks down, feeling kind of hesistant* ...
Nash: What's the matter? I thought you were going to jump. *realizes he became hesitant after his last comment*
Juan: ...I am! *slightly just turns his head towards them* I just need a little support here. Give me a chant or something.
Queen: ... Don't listen to Nash. He wouldn't know what anyone would notice. *frowns* A chant? *then smirks as an idea pops in her head* Go Goldbrick, go~
Juan: *twitches* Way to ruin perfectly heroic moments! ... *gulps and looks down again* Okay, let's see now... three... two... *long pause* ... ... two and a half...
Aila: *heard a lot of commotion as she came out of her room, and races down to the lake to see what was going on...* Heeeeey, what's...
Aila: *she begins to skid along the cold ground and bumps into something as she tries to regain her footing...*
Nash: *wasn't exactly paying attention and ends up being knocked over by Aila - and ironically finds himself bumping into Juan all at the same time*
Queen: ?! Aila? Watch out ... *turns to watch her bump Nash right into Juan* Too late ...
Juan: adgdfs-- *gasps in slow motion, having his life flash before his eyes right before he falls down with Nash - THUD* ...
Nash: *finds himself cold and wet now, trying to spread his arms out and keep himself from drowning underwater*
Aila: *squeaks!* Oh my...*tries to scramble into her feet* I'm so sorry! I heard that Bernadette needed help and I wanted to come by because I could help heal her and all you guys are here and I knocked you in and...*flails*
Juan: *luckily, or not, he just landed flat back on the ice and felt a huge crack* .....ughhhhhh. *feels like falling asleep right here*
Nash: *looks around the area for Juan* ... Juan! Juan? Juan!! *calls out for him, wondering if he either drowned or decided to sleep in the water*
Queen: Nash! Hurry up and find her since you're already in the water. *stares at Juan* Goldbrick. Are you going to pass out in the middle of that ice patch?
Nash: *hears Queen's voice and looks up at the ice patch* ... *yells back at her* I'm freezing! Where did she fall at!?
Juan: *grumbles and just gets up, being in total pain* I'm not Goldbrick, dammit... *just notices Nash going crazy in the water* Holy crap, you actually landed in the water, too. *squats down and stares, wondering what to do next*
Obel Sailor: *points over towards the other side of the ship* She should be further out ...
Juan: *he shifts his stare to the soldier now* If she's on the other side, then why did we jump here?!
Obel Sailor: Because of the ice ...
Aila: *looks up and sees Queen* Queen! What in the spirits is going on?
Nash: .... *really seriously hopes the sailor was only joking*
Juan: ... Okay, good answer. *decides to shut up and investigates the other side*
Nash: *begins to swim towards the other side as well, realizing that it's better to keep his body moving in order to warm himself up... a tad bit*
Melville: *finally reaches the lake, wondering just what's going on* Uh...!
Aila: Melville...? *hadn't seen him or had a chance to say hi* What are you...how did you...someone fell into the lake!
Juan: ... Well. It's kind of... like training... I guess... *reluctantly takes off his shirt like Hasselhoff and dives into the water from the ice that he was standing on*
Melville: *looks at Aila, blinking, and then back at the lake* Oh... that's... *sees Juan and Nash in the lake, and already begins pulling his sword off* I'll help too, then!
Queen: Aila, Melville, Bernadette fell into the lake. You're not going to need a sword to save her. *watches Juan dive in and hopes for the best*
Melville: I know that. *throwing his shirt onto the ground now too, and hesitantly jumps into the water and -- wow it's cold*
Bernadette: *was unconscious as soon as she hit the water and continues to slowly sink further underwater*
Juan: *finally pops out of the water, desperately gasping for air as he's holding a floating Bernadette next to him* AHHH-HAAAHH-HAAAAH... guys, I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but we really need a rope here!!
Melville: *was just underwater for a sec, and, seeing a disturbance above almost straight away, surfaces* Wha-- wait, I'm coming over there, alright?
Obel Sailor: *had gotten a long and sturdy one while everyone had been squabbling and tosses it out onto the ice* If I could ask the rest of you to help me pull them out?
Aila: Rope? Oh, he's got one!~ *quickly gets behind the Obel Sailor* I'll help you pull!
Juan: *just notices Melville in the water, too, and gives him a bewildered look* What the-- did you seriously leave those two up there to pull us all up?!
Juan: ...*delayed* And where the hell's NASH?! *looks around as he waits for the rescue rope to reach them*
Melville: I didn't think you'd find her so quickly! Sorry! *finally reaches Juan, looking sheepish, and helps him support Bern*
Queen: *walks over to the sailor and Aila and grabs onto the rope as well*
Obel Sailor: *pushes the rope across the ice until it gets within grabbing distance* All right, grab onto it and we'll pull you up.
Juan: Yeah, yeah. *makes sure that Melville is holding tightly first* Okay, you ready, kid? Don't let go now, alright? *nods up at the group*
Stallion: *there's a blur of blue with stops as the elf skids to a halt. And stares* What the...? What's going ON here?
Obel Sailor: Our Vice-Captain fell into the lake. *plants his feet firmly in the ground* On the count of three - one, two, three! *pulls the rope back towards them with all his strength*
Aila: *pulls as hard as she can*
Melville: *holds on tight, feeling himself being dragged through the water, and making sure to tug Bern along as well*
Stallion: *ears twitch under his ear stockings* I'll be right back! *zips away!*
Queen: *holds on tightly as she pulls as well, hoping that no one falls over*
Juan: *laments his floating shirt in the water as he's being dragged up* Well, that's the life of-- ... hey, waitaminute, this is Bernadette. *just noticed who he rescued* Heh, how about that.
Melville: ... Who's Bernadette? *trying to get a good look at her, biting back his shivering*
Juan: That's Bernadette. *nods towards her* I'm starting to think that these kinds of things are normal for her by now...
Aila: *continues pulling*
Melville: S-sounds unlucky. *at least they're getting closer to the shore, because he can't help feeling numb now*
Obel Sailor: *gives one last hard pull as they drag them back onto the ice and closer to land* Someone go get some thick blankets to warm them up ...
Juan: --that's our stop. *notices they've reached the ice, and helps the supporting crew take Bern while trying to hide his own thermia* Brr...
Aila: *drops the rope and runs to fetch some blankets from the infirmary*
Stallion: *as though summoned, the elf zips back with a rolls of blankets strapped to his back* Aila! Here!
Aila: *wow, fast!* Thanks! *runs to the sailors with the blankets*
Melville: *with Bern taken care of, he shivers and wraps his arms around himself, wanting to pull his shirt and jacket on but not wanting to get them wet ;;*
Stallion: *helps with the rest of the blankets* Here! We need to get them warm.
Juan: *he finally gets out of the water and lies flat back on the original spot where he landed* ... Ahhh~ I think that's enough excitement for a whole week. ... *closes his eyes*
Queen: You're just going to sleep there after taking a dive in that ice pit? >_> You want to freeze to the spot or what?
Juan: *unresponsive*
Aila: We've got to get everyone inside!
Obel Sailor: *smiles and nods* Thank you all so much. We are just not accustomed to being in such cold water. *looks rather embarrassed* I'm afraid we were rather incompetent in finding our Vice-Captain.
Stallion: Hey, you! Wake up! *starts scrubbing Juan with a towel*
Juan: *comatose! gladly*
Melville: .... *has a towel around him, and kind of nudges Juan with a foot* .... wow.
Aila: *is distributing blankets, wondering how anyone could be okay in cold like this*
Stallion: Aila! Let's use the blankets as stretchers and get them to the infirmary!
Aila: Okay!
Stallion: Let's get sleepy somewhere warm and come back for the rest. *rolls Juan onto a blanket*
Melville: I-I can help carry J-J-Juan-- *SHIVER* --if y-you want. ... Wasn't there a-another guy in--the lake?
Queen: The sailors are taking care of Bernadette. *looks back at the lake* Shit. What happened to Nash?
Aila: ....! Nash?!?!?
Melville: ... Nash can't swim?? *looks bewildered and glances back out at the lake*
Aila: He...he should be okay...he's a spy or something for some Guild, right?
Queen: *sighs and grumbles* Everyone, go ahead to the infirmary and take care before you all get hypothermia. I'll go wait to see if Nash will show up.
Aila: I...*pauses* I'll wait with you.
Stallion: All right! C'mere you. *doesn't know Melville's name* Let's lift him up and to the infirmary!
Melville: *nods and picks up Juan by his legs, and can't help but be a bit fascinated by the elf* ... Whenever you're ready.
Stallion: Right! Let's go! *helps haul Juan's sleeping form to the infirmary*
Aila: *hasn't seen Nash come up for air and looks at Queen* Queen...
Queen: *frowns as she continues watching the water, trying not to look worried but she is* I know. *plans to dive in half a minute if he doesn't show up before then*
