RP Log: Time for a rescue.

WHAT: Off to rescue Lyon
WHERE: Starts at the fountain, then to the Forest.
WHEN: Before Pesmerga comes to Budehuc
WHY: It's Lyon
HOW: Somehow...I mean, with Lu and Kidd...it's amazing they didn't die

Geddoe: *comes down out of the manor house after making preparations for the expedition, striding toward the fountain where he planned to meet the rest of the rescue party*

Kidd: *poking the frozen ice on the surface of the fountain with his magnifying glass, as if it were extremely suspicious*

Belcoot: *he's already standing there, mostly observing and keeping an eye on Kidd quietly, hand idly resting on his sword*

Roget: *follows Geddoe* I'm goin' an' ye can't stop me.

Lu: *tugging on Sheena's arm* Sheena, Sheeeeeeennnnaaaaaaa~~~~~~

Sheena: *dragged along by Lu* Alright, alriiiiiightttt already! Yer gonna dislocate something if you don't let go!

Geddoe: It isn't that I wanted to stop you, Roget, I was merely concerned about your health. You weren't in a good place yesterday. *stops and turns to him* Are you positive you'll be all right?

Lu: Are we there yet? Are we??? Come on, this is totally boooooring!!!

Kidd: What are you talking about?! This is exciting!!! *obviously doesn't get out too much ;; *

Belcoot: *glances up at Lu, and can't help but smile at her behavior* Lu, you need to calm down a bit.

Roget: I'm fine. I told ye Lyon was me main priory, an’ when ye got the information I'm goin' *crosses arms*

Sheena: *attempts to pry his arm loose from Lu's vice-like grip* We haven't even left yet!!

Lu: *gives annoyed look* Who brought this nub along?!!!

Maxine: *from nowhere* I did.

Kidd: *looks around to see who the suspicious 'nub' is*

Geddoe: All right. *gives Roget a quick pat on the shoulder before turning to the others* Our party will have a sixth. I'm sure we could use another mage.

Sheena: *shoves his surviving arm in his pocket* Hey, I'm not gonna complain about having more help, but you think we're gonna meet that much resistance...?

Lu: OMG. So many pretty boys *_* *sticks tongue out at Kidd* Except for you, nyaaahh~~~~

Kidd: Wh-what?! At least I'm not grammatically challenged!!!

Geddoe: I don't know what to expect. *looks pointedly at Maxine*

Belcoot: ... Either way, another mage won't be too much of a problem. *frowns*

Maxine: *glances at Roget and Geddoe* That's fine, I've worked with him in the past. *to Lu* And child, I need you to calm down, please.

Lu: What kind of name is 'Kidd'?! It's tooootally not kewl.

Kidd: *snickers*
Kidd: *isn't the 'child' this time~*

Lu: *clings to Sheena and sticks tongue out at everyone*

Geddoe: Well? Where are we going and what should we expect, if anything?

Kidd: Maxine, you said you knew where?

Maxine: Yes. There's a cabin in the woods beyond the castle grounds. That's where Yuber told me Lyon was being kept.

Kidd: A cabin...? This already sounds suspicious. XO

Belcoot: *raises an eyebrow, having a sort of case of deja vu here* ... hm.

Sheena: How'd we fail to notice a cabin by the castle before...?

Lu: Ahhhaaaaa! Belcooties is here too!!!! *didn't notice him because of how quiet he is*

Belcoot: *automatically* Belcoot if you please, Lu.

Kidd: The woods to the east of Budehuc and north are really thick--they're near the mountains where Eugene trained--that might be why we didn't notice it.

Lu: I'm not Marina!!

Geddoe: A cabin. Hm. It must be at the far fringe of the castle grounds, if Yuber could get to it.

Maxine: *sighs* I suppose we're ready. Does anyone want to change runes before we go?
Maxine: It's better to be over prepared than under.

Geddoe: *folds his arms - he's fine*

Belcoot: *shakes his head* My Falcon Rune is enough, thank you.

Sheena: *lazily hooks his thumb on his belt* You think we're gonna run into old blue eye or Prince Charming while we're out there?

Geddoe: I don't know. *looks at Maxine again* What DID you do with Yuber after you finished questioning him?

Belcoot: I certainly hope not, but it's entirely possible. *runs a hand through his hair, pushing the long bangs out of the way*

Kidd: ... *dirty little boy mind >__> *
Kidd: YEAH, Maxine--let's hear it! >_>

Belcoot: *places a hand on Kidd's head* Don't sound so accusing.

Kidd: >_> *scowls, but remains quiet*

Maxine: I trapped Yuber in a Binding Circle; it should hold him for a while. Now, are we ready? Lu, Roget, Sheena, do you want to change runes?

Geddoe: *accepts the explanation for now*

Sheena: My rune's never done me wrong before, so I don't see why I should give it up now! *rubs the back of his hand and tries to wrest it away from Lu* Lu, you're cutting off the blood to my rune hand!!

Roget: I suppose a Water Rune wouldn't hurt...might need it.

Maxine: Very well *attaches a Water rune to Roget*

Geddoe: *grimly* Yes...more so for Lyon when we find her, than any of us. I hope.

Maxine: I think, then, we're ready.

Kidd: *fist-pumps in the air* Let's go!~!!!!! XO

Maxine: *waits for any objections then moves on.* It would be best to travel by foot for as much as possible. I'll transport us to the forest from here.

Sheena: Alright! Let's get this party started before our buddy breaks out and catches us!

Maxine: *takes Roget and Kidd by the hand* I need everyone to hold hands, so that you will not be left behind. Understood? Good.

Geddoe: *quietly steps up to take Roget's other hand, and offers his right to Belcoot*

Lu: *grabs onto Sheena* I'm reaaaaaaady!

Belcoot: *takes Geddoe's hand and takes Kidd's hand with the other*

Sheena: *not too happy about holding hands with a guy but--* Uhh... we're gonna have to butt into this dance somewhere.

Lu: Sheena? Will it be okay? I don't want to be swhooped in bright light again.

Belcoot: *blinks, and lets go of Kidd* Ah, sorry. *extends a hand out to Sheena*

Kidd: *holds someone else's hand awkwardly >>*

Sheena: It'll be fine, little lady!! Ol' Sheena's here to watch your back! *winks to Lu before he grabs Belcoot's hand*

Geddoe: *scowling* Just do it. We have to get moving!

Lu: *reluctantly lets go of Sheena, holding his hand with her left and offering Kidd her right hand*

Kidd: *looks down and makes a face, but accepts*

Geddoe: *closes his eye, already displeased with all of this*

Maxine: Right. We're going now. On one two, three. *bright flash and suddenly they're in the forest of Budehuc* There. *let's go of Kidd's and Roget's hands and sniffs the air.* This way.

Kidd: *sniffs the air too, just because she did, but doesn't really get it*

Sheena: *lets go of Belcoot's hand as soon as the coast is clear*

Geddoe: *drops hands and lays one on the hilt of his sword, ready and wary*

Lu: *still holding onto Sheena's hand* Whoaaaa. That was fun!!! You have to teach me how you did that!!

Kidd: *lets go of Lu's hand and follows Maxine >>*

Belcoot: *frowns just a bit, not fond of magic as he glances around the new area, following Maxine*

Geddoe: *gives Lu a glare over his shoulder* Will you be quiet? We don't know if there are any enemies out here!

Lu: !!! *places her free hand over her mouth* Mmmhmm!!

Geddoe: *follows closely after Maxine, his senses alert, looking all around* Belcoot...to the right. Sheena, you and Lu stay at the rear. Keep Kidd in the middle.

Maxine: *holds up a hand for silence* We all need to move quickly and as silently as possible. Stay alert. *to Kidd* Can you sense anything out of the ordinary?

Sheena: Aye aye, sir. *leads Lu along the way behind the others* C'mon girly, let's go~

Lu: Yes sir! *_*

Belcoot: *nods, moving into position*

Kidd: Well... *looks around quietly* The snow we're on right now is packed down more than the snow between the trees, meaning it's been tread on more recently, even though the footprints aren't here.

Roget: *falls into step behind Belcoot also being alert*

Maxine: Can you tell the direction they're coming from?

Kidd: *feels kind of weird, as if he's really important for once o_o * I wouldn't go that way--*points to the southwest*--something doesn't feel right there.

Geddoe: *remains on the left, with his good eye watching out*

Sheena: *watches behind Lu as he walks, hopefully not INTO anything*

Kidd: *feels really alert all of a sudden and nearly jumps out of his hat when a squirrel crosses their path* o____o *latches onto Belcoot*

Geddoe: *flinches at the movement but doesn't draw* Tch...are you going to do that every time?

Belcoot: *blinks, looking down at Kidd...* Ah... It's a small animal, Kidd.

Lu: WATCH OUT!!!! *pushes Sheena out of the way of a small rock*

Kidd: It just---it came out of nowhere! x_x *won't bleed*

Sheena: Wh--aAHH! *stumbles and falls in the snow*

Maxine: *sighs* Come on, we want to go this direction *starts heading West* If we're lucky we won't have to go that way.

Sheena: *in a stage whisper* Lu!! SHHHH!

Lu: Oh, right! *covers mouth with both hands*

Roget: *offers a hand to Sheena* Ye ok, mate?

Kidd: *walks behind Maxine as if he were extremely important, but seems a little more jumpy than usual*

Geddoe: *strides diligently to Maxine's left* It wouldn't surprise me if there were wild animals in these woods. Shadow dogs, even.

Belcoot: *kind of amused look here as he keeps going, staying alert despite the distractions*

Maxine: I suspect worse is here. Thanks to our mad prince.

Sheena: *takes Roget's hand and whispers as he pulls himself up* Yeah, yeah. Gotta watch out for Lu too, I guess, huh?

Geddoe: So the Beast Rune can conjure animals and leave them, even if he's not around?

Roget: *nods* Dun worry, I'll watch after 'er too. *to Lu* Behave ye idgit!

Kidd: Wait, they came from him?! So THAT'S why Viki told me to go to the library!

Maxine: Possibly. I have to admit, this is all theory, but I'm confident.

Sheena: Yeah, but... Where the hell did he find the Beast Rune, and how do you hide that in Budehuc?!

Geddoe: *more grim frowning* I see. Then I'll be alert for just about anything as we go.

Lu: What's a Beast Rune??? It sounds scary. I bet it goes "RAWR" and "AAAHHOOOOOO"!!

Maxine: I don't know, but I would very much like to find out.

Kidd: *turns around and makes a face* Shut up! You're going to attract the baddies!

Lu: OMG, plz someone tell this noob to talk to the hand, 'cause I definitely DON'T wanna hear it.

Belcoot: Lu, Kidd -- quiet. *frowns*

Geddoe: Lu. SHUT. UP.

Maxine: *with out raising her voice* Both of you. Silence. Now.

Sheena: Yeah, it is scary. I've seen it. It eats noisy little girls...!! *makes a face at Lu*

Kidd: *wins and gives Lu a cheeky grin* :P

Lu: Hmph!!!! *makes pouty face*
Lu: ...*but also gets the chills after Sheena's comment*

Geddoe: *listening to branches creak in the wind and the crunch of their feet in the snow*

Kidd: *to Maxine* I think the path is changing. Are we almost there?

Maxine: *sniffs the air again and begins to quicken her pace* We can only hope.

Kidd: *tries to keep up with his shorter (but very manly) legs*

Geddoe: *steps briskly through the snow without a problem*

Kidd: .... >_> Show off...

Sheena: *glances up at Maxine* Did he say if she's okay...? *turns to Lu as he steps around a snowbank* Watch out, girly~

Roget: ... is anyone else kinda creeped out by any o' this?

Kidd: *raises hand urgently* o_o *nodnod*

Geddoe: ...no. Though I don't like the quiet. There should be birds chirping.

Belcoot: *can't say he has much of an opinion about it, so he just keeps walking, quietly*

Lu: Oooff~!!! *trips over the snowbank and hits her face in the ground*

Sheena: I told you to watch out! *leans over and offers both his hands to help her up*

Kidd; *winces, feeling bad for Lu*

Belcoot: *turns around to glance at Lu* Are you alright there?
Lu: *sniffles and takes both of his hands*
Lu: I-I'm fine!! See? N-nothing's going to bring me down! *sticks tongue out at the snowbank*

Maxine: *glances back at her.* Are you alright?

Sheena: You sure you're alright? *wipes snow off her cheek*

Lu: *bluuuuuushes and nods!!*

Maxine: Good, we need you to be at your best, Lu.

Geddoe: *huffs a frustrated sigh* All right, let's keep moving.

Maxine: I think we should be coming on the cabin shortly.

Geddoe: *still watching their left flank, but starting to look forward, into a stand of thick fir trees*

Kidd: Wait-wait!!

Roget: *steps closer to Belcoot, not feeling very good at all.*

Kidd: We can't just traipse into the clearing if there is one like this--wouldn't we need to spread out?!

Lu: If anyone comes out, we'd be like "POW" and "KACHOW!!" with a little bit of "SPOOOOW"!!!

Geddoe: Not unless someone senses anyone standing on guard.

Belcoot: Lu should cover us from a defensive position, at the very least. *he's close to drawing his sword now*

Kidd: *not used to being a support character and looks around helplessly*

Geddoe: Lu and Kidd should stay back, yes...one of the mages should support them as well.

Lu: *determined nod and grips onto her bow*

Kidd: *looks over at Lu and puts on a determined face as well*

Sheena: I don't think I like the idea of nobody being here. Makes it seem too easy an' I don't get to bust any heads *rests his hand on the pommel of his sword*

Maxine: We'll make that judgment when we get there. Depends. *holds her Red Orb Rod up, ready for battle* Roget you stay with Lu and Kidd.

Geddoe: I would much rather get in and get out as quickly as possible.

Roget: Me too. *readies his Refined Rod.* Something don't feel right here.

Geddoe: *places his right hand on the hilt of his sword as he prowls slowly forward* There, in the trees. That dark shape - is that the cabin?

Luca: *echo'd from somewhere far away, but so far away that nobody knows where he is* HOHOHOHOHOEHOEHEHEEHEH EAEHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHAH!!!! !!!!!

Geddoe: *freezes*

Kidd: ... *chills*

Maxine: Damn.

Belcoot: *blinks* That...

Geddoe: Yes. *draws*

Lu: W-w-w-w-w-what was that???????

Kidd: That was the sound you hear before you die. :< *shiver*

Lu: I-I-I-I don't wanna d-d-d-die!!!! *screams*

Kidd: *CLAMPS A HAND OVER HER MOUTH* alksdjf

Lu: MMggghamgghgm!!!!!

Geddoe: If it's like last time, Sheena, Belcoot - you go forward with Maxine and get Lyon out. I'll go straight to True Lightning.

Kidd: *bleeds from the nose from stress*

Maxine: Lu! No one will die today, Roget, calm her down. *nods to Geddoe* Right.

Geddoe: *crosses and places himself between the sound of that laugh and the rest of the party as they continue forward*

Roget: *pries Lu from Kidd* Shh, it's alright.

Kidd: *relaxes a bit and starts looking for clues in the surrounding area*

Belcoot: I understand. *draws his own sword as he follows alongside Maxine, hoping that Lu and Kidd will be alright back there*

Geddoe: *to himself* I'm getting too old for this.

Maxine: *puts a hand on Geddoe's shoulder.* Twenty feet away, slightly to the left. Sheena, get up here.

Sheena: Right...! *firmly wraps his hand around the hilt of his sword and sneaks up next to Maxine* Ready when you are.

Geddoe: *nods* I will bring up the rear, just in case I need to blast something.

Roget: I got the kids back here. *to Lu* Get ready. We might need you.

Lu: *looks around, but still nervous, and holds her weapon close to her body*

Kidd: This cabin was owned by a woodcutter... *looks over at the severed stumps and piles of rotting wood scattered around* ... I wonder where the axe is. T_T

Maxine: Don't think about it. *looks from Sheena to Belcoot* Let's go.

Sheena: *nods to Maxine and gives a thumbs-up over his shoulder to Lu before heading out*

Geddoe: *treads cautiously behind Sheena, Maxine, and Belcoot, alert more for the threat in the woods somewhere than anything which might be in the cabin*

Kidd: *stays hidden behind a tree, watching them, then pulls back and looks at the slash marks in the bark where his hands were* ... T_T Ulp. ;;;

Roget: *watches and silently praying that everything goes right*

Maxine: *takes a deep breath and steps into the clearing*

Belcoot: *he follows right after her, watching carefully for any activity other than them*

Maxine: *looks at the cabin ahead of them. It's rotting and smells bad. The smell makes her lip curl. And it's not only the rot.* Be careful. *starts taking confident strides towards the the cabin*

Sheena: *tails closely behind Maxine, glancing nervously around them and trying to not obviously cover his nose*

Belcoot: *he can't help but hold his breath just a bit, frowning as he comes along, still anticipating resistance*

Geddoe: *remains just behind them, turning his head every which way to be alert to anything forward or behind, sword out*

Kidd: *to Lu* Should we spread out to keep a lookout?

Roget: No, stay close to me.

Lu: W-w-w-will that man with the scary laugh come back?
Lu: It was all "HOHO" followed by a "HEHE" and ended with a "HAHA" ;___;

Kidd: Sometimes he likes to mix it up in the middle and--*stops himself ;; * No, he won't come back; he's too far away, and if he's laughing, he's probably enjoying himself.

Roget: Shhhh. Both of ye and watch.

Maxine: *reaches the wall of the cabin and opens the door. Inside there's Lyon, bloody and beaten sprawled out on the floor. Also on the floor there is a note. Not seeing the note Maxine makes for Lyon and checks her breathing*

Kidd: *to Lu* Can you see anything? D: *feels like this is anticlimactic*

Geddoe: *clenches his jaw and refrains from rushing to Lyon's side - he has to guard their retreat, and stays in the doorway on alert* How is she?

Lu: I see nothing. Just snow and white, everywhere! So pretty.

Kidd: *doesn't know how Lu can think about pretty snow right now >>*

Belcoot: *since Lyon is already being checked on, he hesitantly picks up the note, trying not to get angry over Lyon's condition*

Sheena: *pushes through the door* Is she okay??

Maxine: She's alive. Get Roget and the kids, Roget's better at healing than I.

Geddoe: One of you two will have to carry her so my hands are free.
Geddoe: *calls across the clearing* Roget! Bring them over here! Hurry!

Belcoot: *glancing over it, he frowns, reading that note out loud -- a little unenthusiastically*

Kidd: *peers out from the trees, watching*

Lu: *places her hand on Kidd's shoulder to lean closer*

Geddoe: *waves urgently toward Roget* Come on!

Kidd: ! *follows Geddoe's wave and abruptly moves away, his shoulder no longer there for Lu*

Roget: Come on munchkins, let's go *takes them by the shoulders*

Belcoot: "DEAR SPINELESS MAGGOTS OF BUDEHUC, IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR PATHETIC LEADER ALIVE, THEN YOU WILL CHALLENGE ME TO A FINAL DUEL."

Geddoe: *looks sharply over his shoulder* ...WHAT?

Belcoot: *continues* I WILL LOP YOUR HEAD OFF YOUR PUNY LITTLE BODIES!!!!! ... Hoo... hoo... ha.... ... ..." *quits trying while he's ahead*

Kidd: o_o ....... He wrote the laugh?

Belcoot: .......... Yes. *hands the note to Kidd, shaking his head* I'll get Lyon.

Kidd: *takes the note and looks at it as if it were toxic*

Geddoe: Roget, see if you can heal her with a rune, just enough to get back to the castle with her.

Maxine: Damn. Roget, start healing her so we can take her.

Geddoe: *remains blocking the doorway, since there are no threats inside - only outside, now*

Belcoot: Just give me the word and I'll take her. *he sheathes his sword again*

Kidd: I have a mega medicine B in my pocket *fishes for it*

Roget: *nods* Aye! *casts Kindness Drops*

Sheena: ... what a...*mutters angrily under his breath without actually coming up with a good enough word for it* ...!!

Maxine: *stands and growls* Well....*pauses.* Geddoe! Shut the door and get over here!

Geddoe: *takes one more glance outside before closing the door* What do you want?

Maxine: *before she can speak the sound of something large galloping is heard and then crashes into the building, splintering some of the wood* That!

Belcoot: What th -- *he only finds himself drawing his sword again as he moves to grab Lyon*

Geddoe: Oh for...

Lu: *SCREAM* EEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Geddoe: Belcoot! Protect Lyon. We've got it. Sheena, Maxine, Roget...

Lu: *fumbles for her bow*

Maxine: We don't have time for a battle! Get over here and I'll teleport us out of here!

Kidd: *stuffs the note in his pocket--he won't lose the evidence!* *then makes a run for Maxine*

Lu: *quickly makes a run for it towards Maxine*

Sheena: *pulls his sword with a surprised screech* What the hell IS that?!

Geddoe: .........fine! *backs away from the door, though with his sword still up*

Beast: *makes another slam against the wall, causing more of the rotting wood to crack and makes an eerie sound that's a rawr and howl and a screech at the same time*

Belcoot: *he holds onto Lyon tightly, moving to regroup with Maxine*

Kidd: *freezes dead in his tracks at the sound*

Maxine: Nothing we want to face. Grab on to someone. We're leaving now.

Lu: *reluctantly grabs onto Kidd because he's the closest near her*

Geddoe: This cabin is going to come down before we can get out of here. *reaches down and grabs Belcoot's shoulder with his free hand*

Roget: *grabs Kidd and Geddoe*

Sheena: *shoots his hand out and grabs Maxine's shoulder* Alright, get us OUT before that thing gets IN!

Kidd: *practically jumps when Lu grabs onto him, then kind of half clings out of fear to her and Roget*

Maxine: *just as the wood breaks completely and the head of monster smashes its way in Maxine teleports them all back to Budehuc beside the fountain*

Geddoe: *blinks. then....* All right. Belcoot - get Lyon to the infirmary!

Sheena: *dumbfounded* What WAS that?!

Kidd: *dumbfounded and frozen ;;; *

Belcoot: R-right. *he quickly moves off in the direction of the infirmary before anyone can stop him, worried about Lyon's condition*

Roget: *to Belcoot* 'Ere, le' me help. *goes with him*

Geddoe: It wasn't something native to those woods, that's for sure.

Kidd: It was hostile too--usually they leave people alone if they're not bothering them. :x

Maxine: I don't know. *is obviously infuriated by this* It's...not natural

Geddoe: *turns to Maxine* There's no chance it'll follow us back here, is there?

Maxine: No. I hope not anyways. *sinks to her knees, from the hasty teleportation* I don't know if that's Luca's beast or something else.

Kidd: *takes the crumpled note out of his pocket and looks it over, then sniffs it* ... Does this guy write EVERYTHING in blood? Ugh.

Geddoe: Something else? *boggled, and a little disturbed* Who, or what, else could bring a monster like that so close to Budehuc?

Sheena: *sheathes his sword* Can't goldilocks do that kinda thing too?

Maxine: I don't know. But it's neither here nor there. I hope it is Blight's monster.

Geddoe: *puts up his sword, now that they're back safe*

Kidd: Now that you mention it, I thought Yuber had some sort of summoning abilities too...

Geddoe: All the same, I'll ask Salome to double the guard tonight and keep everyone indoors. It's a little too close to the castle for my comfort.

Maxine: That sounds prudent, yes. *stands*

Geddoe: Looks like I may be up on watch myself.

Kidd: I'm going to try to analyze this... but I think it should go public--obviously the fact that it was left in the open means it was intended to be found. *looks at the note*

Geddoe: I think that's a good idea. Make sure Salome sees it, too.

Kidd: *nods* I will.

Geddoe: Are you sorry you didn't get a chance to swing your sword, Sheena?

Sheena: S'alright man. *sulks* It's not like we aren't gonna have a chance later, what with that note and all...

Geddoe: Yes. Better that we didn't get into a fight now. We can't afford to lose anyone else.

Maxine: Geddoe, as soon as Belcoot gets back from the infirmary, we and Salome should have a meeting.

Geddoe: *eyebrow* Very well.

Maxine: I have to look into a few things first. Then you can lead us to glory *small teasing smile before walking off towards her lab*

Kidd: *scowls at Geddoe and grumbles something about 'glory hog'*
