Songs LXV: Don't Call it a Comeback...It Might Not Last.

Well, isn't this pretty.  If LiveJournal didn't suck, I could figure out how to make it my heading.  Anyhoo, I guess I'll start posting again and see how long I can keep it up.  In some very exciting news, I think I've figured out a way to never ever use filehosting websites like yousendit ever again. Phew.  Let's try some right-click, save-as action.

So, where was I when I dropped the ball back in July?  Oh yes, Will Oldham covers.  I imagine if I had readers, they would be very sick of him.  But this is Calexico, and they make this song so good.

Palace Brothers: I Send My Love to You (1994) from Days in the Wake.

Calexico: I Send My Love to You (Palace Brothers Cover) (2004) from I Am A Cold Rock. I Am Dull Grass. A Will Oldham Tribute.

And these should have been up months ago, when they were fresh, but I've been lazy.

The Knife: Heartbeats (2005) from Deep Cuts.

Jose Gonzalez: Heartbeats (The Knife Cover) (2005) from Veneer.  This song has made the Big Time for sure, what with being featured in this kick-ass clip.  But if you're going to 'sell out', kudos for making it worthwhile.  You can get the backstory on the shoot here.

Jose Gonzalez: Hand on Your Heart (Kylie Minogue Cover) (2005) from the Stay in the Shade EP.  Don't let the Kylie throw you; this is a gorgeous ballad...
