People boo but I don't hear it

I'm an artist.
Whether I want the title or not I have it.

I produce art and as a result sometimes people don't get it. Or as I'm going to present, they may get it, but simply don't give a shit.

There was an Open Projector Night at the Hammer Museum, a very cool museum right by campus. Anyone could submit and anything could be submitted.
(I got to watch a banana peeled off an erect penis).
I opted to submit an episode of Ari & Stone. Would it be enjoyed? I hoped so.

But the way the night played out was like this. Because there were so many submissions, they went to people's choice. Rowdy people's choice.
At the two minute mark, they would stop the short and ask the audience if they wanted to continue. From that point on, if it was agreed upon to keep going and then later everyone grew bored of what was being shown, if enough people yelled, it would get cut. Most pieces didn't get past the three minute mark. Ari & Stone was one of them.

I don't really mind it. Mob rule is a terrible thing if turned against you. And also, with half the audience being filmmakers and wanting their own thing to be screened, I was at a disadvantage going so early in the night, because those pieces were more prone to be booed.
Like Youtube, when there's some anonymity involved, people are just dicks.

Cal game tomorrow. That's exciting. First college football game.  Woo.  Foot. Ball.
