Tangentially related Barrowman stuff: Comics
I thought you folks might be interested to know how John Barrowman and Captain Jack are having a positive impact on comic book characters. :)
Last year Marvel Comics brought back a closeted gay superhero from the 90s called Shatterstar as an out gay superhero. In the process they revamped his look and his maturity. (He had atrocious fashion taste as a teenager, but didn't we all?) According to the writer, Shatterstar's more mature personality is partly based on Captain Jack. Looking at the panels, many fans including myself think Shatterstar's current body language is also based on John Barrowman's onstage body language -- and that includes fans who've seen JB in person.
