Hi all,
I have a question.
Are there any rumors about 'La Cage aux Folles' DVD with John - are they planning to do it?
I would love to have one, and it would be a logical marketing decision, really, but I've never heard a word.

The biggest fool is one who doesn't hope. I'll hope even if the naysayers tell me not to. They obviously know more than I do.

I'd love to have one. It doesn't matter what the casting, because the show would be great to see in any capacity. But God knows, anything that would please the masses is usually a no-go ...

Well one can hope of course but I'm not sure where the bizarre reference to naysayers is coming from? Noone is trying to harsh anyone's squee simply stating from experience how sadly unlikely it is that a cd or dvd is to be produced of the current run of John and Simon ( ... )

I think you're confusing logical reasoned statements of fact with being mad.

Cute picture though.

Well I'm sure the OP appreciates your contribution to the thread.

The watermarking on that picture makes it look like Carole is wearing glasses.

I'm sure the OP is going to love their inbox even more.

I wish there was some way I could remove it - comme ci comme ca.

I think Douglas might have got the Olivier for his acting.
I've seen him in La Cage a few times, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Douglas as Albin, but it certainly wasn't for his singing!! :)

But if its something you feel passionately about why not be pro-active? I believe that Sonia Friedman produces the show - why not contact her production company and let them know of the demand for a cd/dvd? Can't hurt.

I agree, being proactive never hurts! Even if they don't make a DVD now, there is still a possibility...

It seems someone made some traditional online steps:

Nobody is being mean, just realistic. Don't know why but you are coming over as quite bitter. The OP asked a specific question and its not unreasonable that people have given her a considered and realistic response. It is a fact that as a rule, whoever the cast, that West End shows are not recorded to DVD and it is also the case that the current cast have said a number of times that there won't be one.

It is sad. I'm lucky enough to have seen it and I'd love there to be an official recording but its not something I am expecting. Nothing to do with being a naysayer. Perhaps if enough people write in you never know, maybe they will do one of Lawson and Hodges before the end of the run or on Broadway. I'd be astonished but fingers crossed eh!
