John Barrowman is to host a new BBC One show which gives aspiring performers the chance to make their dreams come true.
The six-part series called Tonight's The Night will combine performances from well-known artists with routines by members of the public, whose dream is to sing or dance in front of millions.
The weekly Saturday night show will also feature celebrity guests, studio audience challenges and West End-inspired performances.
Barrowman said: "I'm really looking forward to finding the unlikely stars out there, putting a little extra sparkle in their life and helping them realise their dreams."
The BBC are encouraging people to nominate their friends or family but have stressed that the programme is not a talent show and will not be holding auditions.
Barrowman added: "It's pure entertainment and all about making people's wishes come true."
BBC One Controller Jay Hunt said: "Tonight's The Night has all the hallmarks of great family entertainment. John Barrowman is the ultimate all-round performer and the perfect host for this exciting new show."
