George, John's webmaster, stated that John will be reprising his as Robin Hood in Cardiff for the 2009 panto. Just wanted to pass that info along here.
We haven't even got through xmas this year and he's already planned and booked for next years, bloody hell. I know he said that he was booked up until 2011 but honestly, can i get through the remainder of this year before thinking about next year, lol.
Oh yes! That's trip no. 4 to the UK in only 18 month then. The Torchwood and Doctor Who cast really are draining my piggy bank. On the plus side, I won't have to try and fit a trip to Birmingham into my London schedule this January.
ooh thanks for letting me know. I can work on hubby to get me tickets for this using the excuse that our DS really wants to go to Cardiff...which he does & that might work better.
It is veeery early for a confirmation like that. And since I couldn't find anything on John participating in the show on the venue's website I think it would be wise to just wait a little longer until buying the tickets. Just in case...
JB starring in the next panto is advertised in the New Theatre's current panto programme. Plus he's been confirmed by his official list, so it's on. Of course castings can change, but that pretty much goes for any production! Tickets are flying out the window already! There's already practically nothing left in the stalls for the first performance, apparently!
Just a little warning about the Upper Circle at the New Theatre, for anyone still planning to book. The first couple of rows in the Upper Circle have a restricted view because of the metal safety bar that runs across the front of it, which blocks the view right of the centre of the stage. You have to keep looking above or below it, which can be annoying. If I ever book for the Upper Circle there I tend to prefer being on the 3rd or 4th row back so that I'm looking above the bar.
Also, I'd rather book the very back row of the Stalls or Dress Circle than anywhere in the Upper Circle as the seats are very hard and uncomfortable there, plus there's very little leg room, even if you're not that tall!
Also, for anyone who hasn't booked any tickets yet it's best to phone the theatre, rather than book online, as they'll offer better seats. I don't know why but online they always tend to offer seats further back, even when they have lots available in closer rows. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the warning - I read some of it on the theatre's website and was wondering how bad it really was (I never before read a warning that you shouldn't book certain seats if you had back problems!)
