Two interesting bits of JB news/rumor:

Torchwood star John Barrowman set for gay documentary

John Barrowman to Star in 'Barnum' West End Revival? The potential Barnum revival is listed as "late 2009," so presumably it would not interfere with any... filming of a certain TV show... *avoiding jinx* that might possibly be happening earlier in the ( Read more... )

Not being funny but his schedule's no worse than anyone who has a family, a challenging job and a busy lifestyle - and no support in the way has to get through it..not to belittle him, he works hard but its not that manic a schedule.

I quite fancy Barnum actually. He would be good.

There's a lot of people been commenting about how much he is doing and that his schedule is so manic it makes him completely incredible etc that he can possibly manage to do it all. Its beginning to annoy me...a lot...show me the person working 10 hour shifts on minimum wage with 3 kids to get to school etc etc..and then I'll be impressed by schedule management etc.

To be fair John is mega busy but he does have drivers, assistants, a manager, a huge salary, its personal choice etc etc. I have never heard John go on about his schedule.

The more I think about the Barnum thing (which I read about this morning) the more sold I am becoming on it. I do have a recording somewhere which I will dig out. I saw Crawford at the Palladium too. I think I will be kind of disappointed if he doesn't do it now.

I just worry that he never takes any time off and I hope that he and Scott find some way to take some time and have a fabulous vacation together. John just seems to go non-stop. Barnum would be a great choice for him, although I don't think it's a top-flight musical. Some great songs, but not in the Sondheim or really in the ALW category.

The show will probably sell out like two seconds after tickets go on sale.

Of course what I'm desperate for is at least one concert date or a show here in the States.

The project has been described to me as being "at the talking stage" because Barrowman is currently shooting the third series of Torchwood as well as filming some episodes for the new Dr Who programmes with David Tennant and - surprise! - Billie Piper.

Third series? When? How? UH? I thought it hadn't been renewed yet!

When questioned about his hectic schedule, John quotes his mother, "You've got plenty of time to sleep when you're dead." Therefore, he makes use of his time in such a way that he's always doing something, be it for work or play. John works hard and he plays hard too.....He loves what he does and wants to do it for as long as he possibly can. But he also knows his limits. He knows that he's got to recharge to keep going, which is something he'll do while heading to another location for work. For some, this may not seem like it's hectic, but I look at what is required of him physically, mentally, and emotionally and the toll it takes.

John is just like everyone else, we just hear more about it.
