JB & Scott at Cardiff Mardi Gras - a report
Hi again. My friends and I, who all live in and around Cardiff, went to the local Mardi Gras yesterday. We were there just to hang out together, take in the atmosphere and see the bands playing live. I almost didn't go at first, cos I hadn't been feeling very well earlier in the day, but I made the effort and I'm so glad I did!
We were just sitting in on the grass, relaxing, when we spotted John and Scott in the crowd, just wandering around! I was secretly drooling, as you can imagine! Lol. About 5 minutes later they walked past again, spotted us and came over to say Hi! What a thrill that was. They were so lovely. They were dressed casually, in jeans and trainers. John had a blue jacket on and Scott was wearing a brown/tan coloured jacket.
Later I learnt that they both appeared on the stage but I managed to totally miss them! I'd gone to look for one of the portaloos at that point and had to queue for ages, there were so many people there, lol. If I'd known they were going to be making an on-stage appearance in advance I'd have certainly been down the front by the stage, with my camera at the ready.
We'd had no idea they were going to be there. John certainly wasn't mentioned on the schedule line up of guests appearing. I think they were probably just there to see the event, like everyone else, and that maybe Russell T Davies (who WAS listed as being one of the guests) or one of the organisers probably saw them and asked John if he'd make a quick appearance on stage, as a last minute, spur of the moment thing. Unless of course he WAS already planning to appear on stage but it hadn't been announced beforehand, to make it a surprise for everyone.
It was a really fun evening, and I'm so glad I went, despite not feeling very well. We got to meet Russell T Davies too! That was so cool. He's really lovely and friendly, and posed for a group photo with us.
Anyway, sadly I didn't get any pics of JB & Scott, as I said, but hopefully others took some and will post them online! I've seen a couple of one TW LJ board. Anyone else attend and manage to get any pics? Would LOVE to see them (hint hint! lol) :)
