hypothetical ADWD discussion

May 23, 2007 14:24

This is one for the people who're a bit addicted to ADWD (thus knowing how it works and what tends to win good comments/votes) and also for the people who'd seen John on stage back when he was in his twenties.

Wanting objective discussion on this one.

I'm just wondering - we know that John is ridiculously talented, stage presence etc, (we're all *very* biased) but how far do you think he'd have got if this competition had been on when he was in his twenties and he hadn't gone the route he did at the time? I'm pretty sure he would've entered it, since he's stated regularly that the reason he auditioned for Live and Kicking was to get his name out there and get notice from the the theatre producers because the West End was already starting to go the way of opening only with well-known names.

So what do you think, objectively? Taking into consideration what he looked like then as well, since looks *are* a factor in this contest. Pretty sure he'd have got through to the final twelve after seeing how the original winnowing happened - the boy could sing, dance and act, after all, (most of the lads in Joseph school weren't full triple threats), but do you think he'd have had what it takes to win it, or get knocked out mid-way?
