In running through the channels on the TV, I discovered that that only station from the outside world we're currently getting is Fox News [shudders]. No CNN, no MSN, just...[shudders]
I also discovered that Friends is on. I stopped watching it because of the episode in which Ross tries to be nice and brings Rachel a late night snack, she blows him off and then later demands an apology from him - it pissed me off and that was it for me. In watching the "Flashback" episode in which we see Chandler and Monica have sex for the first time and the "Gellar Bowl" thanksgiving episode, I'm reminded just how funny the show was. Those writers really knew what the hell they were doing - the actors too - as odd as it may be to say, it's almost like watching craftsmen at work.
"You really think I'm that shallow?"
"No, I think that Monica was that fat."
I'm still pissed about the other thing, but I think the next batch of TV DVDs I buy will be sitcoms. I'm still can't get enough of the quirky action shows like Alias, Buffy, and Veronica Mars - amazing shows that last around 43 minutes or so - but I think it's time to go to places where there are more laughs per minute.
Any suggestions?
