Shortly after the Hank Aaron thing, there was Bingo. When I left everything was fine...

I came back to drop something off for Environmental Oregon Guy and the Bingo caller - a really cool but really married girl named Ali - said "Oh look, there's Bill - he can help us!" and started the cheer about how if I couldn't do it...

Well, no one could.

Everything I tried to do to making things better made things worse - after much sweating and swearing and putting them into further darkness, I learned there was nothing I COULD have done.

Then when I was telling Ali I had to reset the system (when in doubt), I noticed that all of the smoke machines had turned on.

By "themselves."

"One second, Ali - hi bridge? This is the production manager - the smoke machines have gone off in the Galaxy Lounge - I don't know why, but that's not important so much - well to me and the Bingo guests it is - anyway, there's no emergency - well, to me there is - but there's no fire going on here. Thanks!"

"What?"

"There's no fire here in the Galaxy Lounge. Thanks!"

We have contractors on board.

An email went out at 11:52am that they'd be dicking with (my phrase, but that would have been more honest) "certain" electrical systems.

We started having problems at 11:28am.

The entire ship was having similar problems, minus the smoke and geriatric bingo players.
