Good afternoon adventureous River,
You are in the middle of a long nap right now, and I am watching France beat Peru in the first round of the world cup. I always enjoy the event, even though the USA didn't make it this year, I am trying to watch as much as ever. Your Uncle Matt and Aunt Emily flew into Boston from France for the first time in nearly a year Friday, and I have been trying not to drive your mother crazy all last week due to excitment. Despite the usual poor planning and lack of cordination on your grandparents and uncles part, it's been a blast so far. I had to work Thursday, and Friday we did a lot of yard work. We mulched the small garden in front of the house, and planted other flowers and plants. We went down to Agway and bought a bunch of things like rose some rose bushes and a sort of mystery berry bush. It was a good but sweaty day as we worked and fought the bugs. Saturday morning we went down to the co-op in NH because we were essentially out of food. We bought pounds of meat and other stuff before we came back to the house. We cleaned a bit and waited for Meghans new work tablet to arrive - I had to flag down the idiot FED-EX driver, and we took off to your grandparents in Barre. Matt, Emily and Curtis were already there, enjoying a gorgeous day, and drinking out on the swings. They immediately started to say hi and play with you (they only talk to you in french which I think is great) but I am not sure you knew what to do with them quite yet. We played some with a deflated football, which bounced and caught me in the eye. I put some ice on that as your uncles and emily pushed you in the swing. It was a wonderful afternoon - your pepe was insistant in showing everyone how you played on your favorite toy. Unlce Curtis keeps talking about going to South Korea or Vietnam to teach people English. He was talking about how he is no super young, and can no longer relate to 21 year old women and Matt had the burn of the night "Well, now that you can't talk to beautiful 21 year olds you basically have two options: move to a diferent continent like I did, or start procreating like Andrew". We had a big dinner with grilled corn, hot dogs, potatoes and hamburgers. Pepe enjoyed feeding you bears and questioned you eatting spinach and brocoli. Matt baldwin and Stacy showed up shortly afterwards, and you went to bed. Despite your grammies and mom's objections, we started playing peg, the game we've played since childhood. After a few quick rounds of that, we carried pallets off to the firepit and made a great big bonfire that lasted the rest of the night. Eventually your mom and I went home around 11, and it was safe to say she drove. We had a wondeful time.
The next day was fathers day, and I woke up with a bit of a head-ache.
