I touched gia this morning.
I saw 3 squirrels playing sexual leap frog in front of me for nearly an hour. I heard the geese talking to the wind while cutting a path through the intense indigo sky. I walked through a fog so dense, so cool and so cleansing I felt all my sins and indescretions stripped from me and swirled away into droplets of water and air never to be seen again. I stopped and let a family of pheasants pass, the parents with their strong bodies and the 11 babies cautious yet curious. I watched as the sky grew brighter and brighter still until the top of the dome finally crested the hill and illuminated the valley and all things below it's kingdom. For just a second, everything shone gold. As I moved away from my spot the fog took over and eclipsed the sun as if to say "aha, not yet my friend." The spiders webs holding on to the tears of the night and turning them into works of beauty before being soaked up by the heat. The trees dense, damp and the earth swallowing my footsteps and allowing me to pass without sounding like an intruder. On my way home, a black and white cat running along the road, more squirrels, a late running raccoon and a family of deer. So simple, yet so majestic our world is to me.
Simple things remind me I am alive and nature is my heartbeat.
