Jumpstarting the Silver Age of Comics, The Flash celebrates its 50th anniversary in this special panel featuring some of the best writers and artists to grace the title. Moderator Mark Waid, a Flash writer himself, talks to artist Carmine Infantino (who redesigned the character in 1956 and is indelibly associated with the title); writer Geoff Johns, who wrote the book for a long run ending last year; artist Howard Porter, who collaborated with Johns on his last story arcs in the series; and cover artist Brian Bolland, who produced a memorable run of covers for the series. 2:30-3:30 Todd McFarlane: The Devil’s in the Details- Todd McFarlane and associates will talk about the current projects of the McFarlane companies, including McFarlane Toys’ current toy lines, upcoming licenses and the future of Todd’s cutting-edge toy company. The panel will also preview upcoming new comic titles and review the changes to the core titles in Todd’s comics company. The newest project (an animated video for Disturbed’s Land of Confusion) from Todd McFarlane Entertainment will be shown. The panel will also discuss the many changes and new features coming to the McFarlane companies’ website, spawn.com, and open the floor to questions from the audience. 3:30-4:30 A Marvel Studios Production: The Future of Marvel’s Film Franchises- The next great era of comic book films begins as Marvel Studios launches its new slate. The studio is currently developing many of its landmark titles for adaptation to the screen, including Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, and Ant-Man. At this presentation, the directors of Iron Man (Jon Favreau), The Incredible Hulk, and Ant-Man (Edgar Wright) will share their visions for these highly anticipated films. 4:30-5:30 The 4400- Get a sneak peek at upcoming scenes from CBS Paramount Network Television's hit sci-fi series The 4400 for USA Network, followed by a panel discussion with series stars Joel Gretsch (Tom Baldwin), Jacqueline McKenzie (Diana Skouris), Patrick Flueger (Shawn Farrell), and Megalyn Echikunwoke (Isabelle Tyler) and executive producer Ira Steven Behr (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and producer Craig Sweeny (Medium). The third season of The 4400 sparks a new beginning for the 4400 people who, over a span of years, mysteriously disappeared-only to be returned to Earth all together in a ball of light. Though the returnees have not aged physically, many of them reappeared with dramatic abilities ranging from enhanced reflexes to precognition. NTAC (National Threat Assessment Command) is the government agency responsible for keeping track of the returnees and investigating all things related to the 4400. Michael Straczynski, currently writing the Marvel flagship titles Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, plus Squadron Supreme, is also the creator of the fan-favorite TV series Babylon 5, Crusade, and Jeremiah. JMS is also the author of Changeling, a big-budget feature film for Imagine Entertainment and Universal Pictures, to be produced and potentially directed by Ron Howard.
