What's new

Thought I'd post an update on the latest in my life.

On the down side, my brother James has decided he is not speaking to me or his other brothers and most of his friends any more. It's hard to deal with his troubles when I am so far away, but I also don't know what I could do about it if I were closer to home. I'm very sad and worried about this, but can't do much from here.

Good news on my employment front, webMethods was bought buy a German company, SoftwareAG. This will mean more opportunities for me to advance as it's a larger company and is based in Europe. And SoftwareAG has a better sales and marketing organization, which means we will sell more of our software through their sales team.

SoftwareAG are now in a position to take on IBM in this sector, so this should continue to be a growth company. It's always more fun working for a company that's seing growth and success.

In other good news, Charlie and Amber will be coming to visit in May and we're all going to the Wave-Treffen gothic music festival in Leipzig. That should be a blast.

And Lisa is really enjoying her new job and doing quite well. I'm very proud of how quickly she's hit the ground running there.

I guess you take the good and the bad and make the best of it. We love living over here and it was such a good move for my career and it got me out of a bit of a rut where I'd found myself in the last couple yrs in the US.

And of course, I miss all our friends back home and hope for good things for all of you. I know that many of you are going through some tough times with loved ones with health problems and hope it all works out.

Happy Spring, Happy Easter, Passover, and any other holidays you observe.
