I went to the craft fair with Amy and Matt yesterday. Someone had crocheted pots with crocheted cacti in it. We watched a metallurgy/blacksmith teacher making metal plant leaves. Amy talked to a woman who had some very nice prints flowers and other things. It was nice work and we found out she did it all on a cheap $10 camera. That was pretty amazing. Finally, before we left Amy spoke with a woman who was knitting baby caps and told her where she could take knitting classes.
Then we went to the Alliance for African Assistance Thrift Store and Flavors of East Africa for lunch. We started and fincished with sambusas, masala fries, and fried plantains. Appetizers and dessert. All carbs but well worth the splurge.
Later driving through Hillcrest some asshole started honking and screaming out his jeep because we delayed making a right turn on red. So we decided to wait for the green. He proceeded to speed around us and in front of us, then slam on his breaks in the middle of the next two intersections before giving us the bird and turning left into Whole Foods. We were in Hillcrest so I figure he must have been coming down from a meth high.
We didn't go to the show yesterday so we are going to UCSD to attend The Beat's end of year performance, "Beat to the Future!" today. It's at 9pm. It's kind of late for me to enjoy some cool A Cappella hits.
