As I was driving home from work the other day, I had one of those guys in a hurry trying to outflank me to the turning lane. You know the type; even though you're going 5 over the speed limit, he thinks that his nicer car and more impatient driving will allow him to pass you on the right, cut in front of you, and make it to turn left at the next intersection in front of you.
I saw such a dude, wearing a business suit and driving a Lexus, do such a thing yesterday. Of course I wanted to just out-race him to the light, forcing him to get behind me if he wanted to turn. But I controlled the impulse, and watched as he pulled ahead of a big Suburban in one of the two left-turn lanes, pulling up even with me in the other one. Then, out of no where, I hear a guy in a loud speaker.
"Hey you, in the suit and tie!" Mr. Lexus turns around in his seat, wondering if the cops were pulling him over. "Watch the hell where you're driving! I've got your license plate number and I'm not afraid to call it in." The light turned green as I raced onto the freeway, leaving Mr. Lexus to drive cautiously behind.
