Today at school...

this was the story I was being told while walking around Staples:
'Judgmental 11 year old girl' in Erin's class was asking about sexuality. She has asked about religion before and uses any answer as a platform for her very conservative views. She was asking each child whether or not they were gay.
Erin: I am a homosapien.
J11yog: *goes silent and stiff*
Erin: Ali? Are you a homosapien too?
Ali: oh yes Erin, I am a homosapien too...
so Erin started asking the children who was a homosapien, and you would not believe the high percentage of them in her class. heeheeheeheehee

so I am giggling about this as I pay the cashier and I say "are you a homosapien?" and she says "um, no." and I say "yes, honey, you are. Go look it up."
She admitted she did not know what it meant, so I said 'human'. Meanwhile my hero is next to me making every effort not to laugh out loud at an "adult" who has just fallen into the same trap the classmate did. E did manage to keep it in until we were outside.

I did end up saying that if smaller children are being judgmental and stupid it is not okay to make them look stupid and humiliate them, but children her age and older and (gods help us) adults were fair game.
