a day in the woods
It was so good to have some good weather. Lots of rain can be pretty depressing!!
Yesterday (Saturday) we went down to the ranch (that's what I call our land in San Marcos) and took care of one of the hundreds (it's not really, but we have a lot) of piles of brush. Chris had made a pretty good burn area for us about two weeks ago & we stacked more tree branches, etc. & lit it up.
It was a beautiful day for it! The temp was around 60ish & very little wind. We both just kept adding brush, since we have so much everywhere, that finally I suggested we stop or else the fire won't burn down till about midnight! We stopped adding to it, but then decided we needed to bring in the pieces that hadn't burned & that didn't help, so we finally left around 7:00 with a giant pile of ashes & only embers left.
We brought out Clementine's play yard & about a dozen toys to keep her busy & she seemed to have fun...or at least as much fun as a 5 month old can I suppose *shrug*. Anyways I had a lot more fun than I thought I would & hope that upcoming weekends will have just as good weather so we can go out again!
