Goth-Walk Kick-off Date!
Due to Seth's and my busy schedules, we have settled on October 17 for our inaugural Goth-Walk. Those of you who have expressed interest in participating will be receiving an email with this information as well as a meet-up location.
We are going to do everything as one group -- unless we are an unwieldy crowd. In that case, we'll split up.
Remember, our objective is to inform the residents of the Pine Hills/Student Ghetto section of Albany. We will not be confronting anyone. Violence is what we are fighting and the best means to do so is to have the neighbors in that area start looking out for themselves -- even if they might be drunk and stumbling down the street. If we see anything questionable, we whip out the cellphones. There will be flyers and handbills for everyone to hand-out and take home if you so desire (I hope to have enough to put under car windows, etc.).
At least one of our stops should be the Stewarts for coffee and snacks (and to put up a flyer).
Some things people may want to bring (in addition to a cellphone if you have one):
1.) Appropriate clothing (we will not be doing this naked).
2.) A flashlight.
3.) Note paper.
4.) Scotch tape.
5.) Staple gun (I'll be bringing two -- although flyering is illegal on telephone polls, we might find somewhere else legal to put up stuff).
6.) Insulated coffee cup or the like.
7.) Good walking shoes (blisters suck).
