Yesterday we visited Bejing for the day to see the Forbidden City and Tienamin Square.
In Bejing there is construction everywhere. They are building entire city blocks up from nothing. The skyline is filled with cranes and scafolds.
Here is the view from the expressway. In Rochester there are two highway rings around the city (inner loop and outer loop). Bejing has seven. This is the skyline for only six square blocks. Its a fraction of the total city.
Here is the front of the Forbidden City (the north gate) facing Tienamin Square. There is still the giant portrait of Chairman Mao mounted on the front.
This is one of the inner courtyards. There are several such courtyards in the palace. There are many more smaller courtyards aswell.
Here is the royal palace Starbucks... wait, wha... Yeah, they build a Starbucks INSIDE the palace. Its in one of the corners of the inner courtyard. There are five in the entire palace.
There are many passages and corridors in the palace, many of which look indentical. They all lead to, well, more passages and corridors. Its somewhat inefficient.
Well, thats all for today. I have lots of other pictures, so I want to get together with everyone before MCC starts and show them all to you. Please let me know when everyone has free. See you later.
